Lick has been buffed. L/HB Snorlax is basically the best* attacker in the game for almost literally every defender save Tyranitar. WG/HP Vapes are back as well. * P/HB Blissey is technically the best because of the HP but a L/HB or even L/BS Snorlax is more likely to be obtained by more people.
Worked 40 hours the last 3 days so I'm off today. Going on a nice walk today with the dog. I've only seen ~20 Johto guys so far not counting the egg event before the release so I hope I can put a dent into that
you will. I just counted and ignoring evo item ones I'm already closing in on single digits. I'm even seeing the evolved forms more as well. the only thing that will probably take a bit is Tyranitar but he spawns a few times a day about 20 minutes from me so I could just go there and get one if I was so inclined (I'm absolutely not doing that unless it's a godly IV). it's gone by so much faster than gen 1 for me but perhaps that's biomes. I have to say I'm liking not needing 125 candy for stuff that barely spawns where I live (Alakazam, Golem, Machamp, Charizard, Dragonite).
I get that it's a Charizard and all but at 149 CP it shouldn't chew up like 5 ultras/razz then run. there should be some kind of overleveled multiplier for that shit. 44 candy shy of my next Charizard, I really wanted those 11. on the bright side, I continue to have great success with Pinap and Snorlax. I've got like 15 extra candy already. 4 10k eggs now. Not complaining, just odd to get so many. Had one other rush of 4 like that during the baby event and it gave me 3 babies and a Snorlax, hopefully I can get a Larvitar or something good.
my city has the right biome for him and Dragonite, I just wasn't aware of just how good since I ran into him now and then but not nearly as regularly as I do now that I've been informed. there was 10 Snorlax spawns on Monday but then like 2 on Tuesday however it's usually in the 4-6 range if not on the higher end. some pop up while the sun is up but the majority of his spawns are at night and people have mapped out his usual hangouts so I just set the scans and let them go and then decide whether I want to go get him, which usually means an IV above 70 and the proper movesets. I'll snag lesser Snorlax on the way to other stuff I want, though. I'm really lazy about him but I'm nearing 100 candy now and only 1 quality Snorlax to put them into (the one I hatched). there's been some 80+ but they've all been low CP or with awful moves. I'm looking for level 20+ ones with either ZH/HS or L/HB or possibly ZH/HB. haven't seen one in the 90s yet but also have only been on this more informed kick for a couple of weeks. as I type this a ZH/HB one came up but its 51 IV and a 10 minute drive across town and I don't want to drive for something that's going to be candy anyway. I'm trying to just squirrel away 20-30 candy a week, more than enough to keep my guy maxed but prepare to max another 2 and give me a truly viable army. it's pretty disappointing to go for some 87 with good moves and have it be like 760 CP, though.
One of the reasons I haven't gotten into the gym side of things is that the campus/downtown area in which I reside is just dominated by Mystic and Valor. Found out Sunday that the other side of the river is all Instinct, so my Dragonite has been occupying a gym since then. It's a nice feeling.
My biome is pretty shitty. Went on a ~6 km walk and saw nothing new and no rares outside of my 3rd Pineco. Pretty disappointed. Still haven't seen a Johto starter or anything uncommon outside of my first day where I caught a Skymory
did not know what Johto starters were but it all makes sense after a quick google. in that case the low Charizard that ran on me was offset by the 1900 Typhlosion I caught 10 minutes later lol. definitely explains the "lots of Chikorita, less Totodile, even less Cyndaquil" I see in my city. I've caught everything but Feraligatr but I'll probably try to make a good one of those. and yea, you live in a shitty biome. you reported Lapras (or maybe it was Jynx or both?) before, I think, so do you see many Swinub/Piloswine?
I've seen one Lapras and one Snorlax in the wild. Swinub to me is like drowzee was early in the game. If Piloswine was worth a shit I'd be cool but he's pretty meh
I used the name trick and it worked for me. Also, correct me if I am wrong but Taurus sucks compared to those other region specific mons.
Saw a Donphan in a gym today though. Looks very similar to Rhydon in terms of abilities. Really want one now
only time i've ever seen a magnemite was in the keys. tonight discovered that the new nest in my neighborhood is a magnemite nest. v happy.
Zero electric around here. Zero. I have an electabuzz, jolteon and have caught maybe 4 pikachus. I also have 9 2k eggs right now. Kill me.
another just popped up so i walk out to go get it and discover a drug deal going down in the park. didn't want to end up another news story about someone shot or mugged playing game so i
50 here. Random shit pops up at work all of the time. At this rate I'm going to be done with Gen 2 before Gen 1. Also, didn't get a special item on my 7day streak spin today. Super annoyed.
biomes don't cover wide swaths like that, it's a honeycomb matrix and the cells are fairly small (think like grocery store parking lot size) and they change based on proximity to mountains, seas, rivers, deserts, industrial areas, parks, parking lots, etc. a place like Miami would probably be expected to be higher on water stuff than anything and experience less Ice types and potentially less Ground/Rock/Fairy but again, it's not all that clean and the odds are you could fill 95% of your dex easily in a city like Miami. you just have to learn your local biomes. if you caught a Grimer somewhere unusual you should return there to seek them not go to a place that spawns Magikarp and Slowpoke because they don't share biomes. there's no neat and clear list for what biome spawns what pokemon either, it's just something you learn.
Thought Marill was a gen 2 starter for the longest time and had been catching every one and hoarding candies. Turns out it sucks and only has one evolution.
Caught a Hitmonchan, hatched a tyrogue to evolve for Hitmontop, and my other Tyrogue should evolve into Himtonlee when i get more candies. Also evolved my Onix for Steelix. All over my lunch break. Great day.
What is ditto good for and do you have to level the bastard up or does he take the level of who u are fighting? I could see switching him into a fight when a guy is almost dead when you want to use that Mon vs the next in line.
