I wonder what the showrunners think about all the negative publicity they get for what they're doing. I wonder if they make any conscious attempts to change up. I wonder if it truly will take a mass boycott for them to say, "hey, we are ass raping this story with a lot of bullshit acting a character development, we need to stop being faggots and just make great television!".
Problem is, by the time viewers leave en masse (even more so than they have this season), chances are they aren't coming back.
The timeline for the show hasn't even taken up two whole calendar years yet, how the fuck are these adults in the junkyard already incapable of speaking competent English?
Wasn't worse than that trash Tara and Heath episode. Had completely forgotten those two characters had even existed, then they got their own damn episode. So ridiculous.
They went full Kevin Malone this episode. Only parts of their speech reminded me of him in their first appearance but this past episode was all Kevin. It would take a mass boycott and there's no way that's going to happen. Too many idiots absolutely adore this show and think it's the best thing on TV. Numbers have dropped some but not enough for AMC to be concerned considering the amount of money they spend on the show. I remember during the prison/Governor arc I felt the same way. They had essentially abandoned the comics at that point and were just making shit up as they went along. At least there's still some structure here from the comic but it's become very loose again with some of the things happening.
Looks like Episode 100 will be the season 8 premiere. Have to think they are going to bring it with that episode.
That season wasn't great, they dragged out the farm arc for too long (like they do with nearly everything else), but I would much rather watch that season than this one.
Not only did I not buy that obvious fake out...but I was vigorously flipping the bird at my TV for that entire time I was supposed to be "appreciating the despairing facial expressions of Michonne". Was that enough? Not for this show..here's a ridiculous slo-mo of rick tossing her the sword she dropped because she can't live without him. fuck
I don't know about you, but it seems like a terribly irresponsible move to throw a samurai sword to someone.
"she knows how to use it better!"...just, damn, it's not that I can't imagine plenty of apologist sort of reasons, it's just that I can't even finish typing them before I'm ready to slap my own self
Yeah, the whole episode sucked, but the CGI deer attempted fakeout was just ludicrous. At this point we have nobody to blame but ourselves. I'm getting really close to pulling the ripcord on this shit. Lots of better stuff to check out.
That CGI deer was embarrassing. Worst CGI animation I have ever seen. And I can't believe they tried that death fakeout shit again after they got nearly unanimously ripped for it the first time around with Glenn. They are just going to do whatever the fuck they want to do. It's like they are daring viewers to quit.
Comic question that's in the 160ish issue range. Don't open if not caught up for spoiler from comics. Spoiler Do you think maybe the girl that Eugene was talking to in the comics is the junkyard group? Granted none of the tard speak.
Could be. That's an interesting theory. Spoiler The junkyard people don't seem intelligent enough to know how to use a HAM radio. At least I assume that's a HAM radio.
Bad again? Well then, will be interesting to see if viewership dips below 10 million this week, would be the first time since season 3.
Of course. Deep talks and the occasional piano key. Forced emotion. Empty character plots. Hard to give a shit when you dont even know these peoples names
it's definitely full of itself but it always has been at least *something* happened for the first time since episode 1
Im sure he will have pangs of his bitchmade self manifest during the war resulting in deaths that he will act like wasnt his fault because hes the only one going through shit in the apocolypse
I actually thought it was a decent episode, all things considered. Not great, but not nearly as bad as last wk. If this show was being done right, this would be a good example of a random, middle of the season episode. Cheesy at times, but had some good moments, killed some people, and drove the plot forward in a meaningful way.
I thought the episode was actually a little better put together than most TWD episodes. Maybe 1/3rd of the way through the episode I made a note to check who directed it after and sure enough, guy's only directed 2 other episodes of the show so not a regular.
This season showed so much promise from episode 1.... I can't imagine how they could have fucked this up more.
Came here for the bitching, not disappointed. Have to admit I'm curious what some of you think would be the "right" way to do this, because mostly it sounds like: they should have killed off most of the main characters they should have already attacked the Saviors (nevermind that they're severely outnumbered and outgunned and have been spending a chunk of this season setting up and remedying their lack of numbers and weapons, and conversely if they had gotten numbers and weapons as quickly/easily as some of you seem to think, those same people would have been complaining about how it was "too easy"). No character should feel anything about anything that they've done. There should only be zombie and people killing automatons that don't really think, feel, or speak. There should be way more action. Like, mostly just action. Talking is dumb. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely things to gripe about with the show (garbage pail kids speech pattern, for instance). But so much of what gets bitched about in here just makes me wonder what people think would be better? So let's have it fellas. What's your season look like?
Follow the source material and this show is incredible. Being on AMC instead of HBO really hurts them.
Well, for one... the acting is bad. Terrible actually. The one black bitch talking to King Ezekiel about the weavels in the royal garden and then making off the cuff "comedic" remarks about the tiger. Just seems really dumb and pointless to me. "I'm gonna go... I think I just pissed my pants" what was the point of that?
'Can I bring the cobbler?' 'No......... fine you can bring the cobbler' LMAO HOLY SHIT LOLOLOLLLLL SO FUCKING FUNNY AMC, BARREL OF LAUGHS THIS SHOW IS
I've read the source material, and while they have certainly deviated (as they said they would from the beginning to give readers something a little different), there is PLENTY of boring as fuck parts in the comic. Not to mention, if they stick strictly to the comic, they would run out of source material pretty quick.
God damn Morgan snapped. Did the episode run past 10 pm last night? Run time without commercials is 46:45.
And the writing isn't any better. I will say that in addition to the most recent episode being directed by a non-regular and seemingly being better in terms of its overall presentation it featured two of the better actors on the show - Morgan and Carol. The writing has ruined their story arcs at times - Carol's more so than Morgan's - but they've still done better than the others with what they've been given. Hopefully Morgan isn't too crazy for too long because it would be nice to have him and Carol at 100% going into the war. It's hard enough for good actors to act with CGI but that was almost The Room caliber with how quick and awkward her "comedic" lines were delivered.
We're on easy street And it feels so sweet Because we're on eaaa'sy street ... And we're poppin out the good champagne
This fucking show with that opening montage Yoga but with knives And Jesus is gay too? Is this in the comics?
Why didnt they bang on the fence and kill them one by one? Why light a fucking car on fire as a distraction? What the fucking fuck
Yes, Jesus is gay in the comics. I actually forgot they hadn't "revealed" that or whatever on the show yet. I wonder how many viewers they'll lose for having a gay character named Jesus.
I know it's a trope, but why does that rifle sounds like an empty can of pringles filled with ball bearings every time they move it. Yes, I'm making that nitpick in a full episode comprised of bullshit
