Is it me or does it seems like anyone who grew up in Marietta, Roswell, Up 75 burbs moved to Smyrna/Vinnings and that's close enough to the city for them?
Yeah I grilled Saturday as well after inviting people earlier in the week. Fuck it, come hell or high water that charcoal was getting lit.
I mean it took me like 18 minutes to drive to Staplehouse on Sunday. Pretty much everything is about 20 mins away from me regardless of direction. So easy to drive/uber around the city.
Did someone kill themselves on a marta track? God fucking damn it. Thanks Marta for making everyone get off the train. It isn't in the fucking 30s are anything
They announced delays on the red line. We had to stop on the tracks a couple times. Did someone really kill themselves?ass hole.
https://www.coldwellbankerhomes.com/ga/atlanta/123-luckie-street-nw/pid_16841750/ This was just on Curbed. It's a pretty sick spot. Would strongly consider if I worked downtown. Rooftop terrace is A++
I work about 100 yards from there and while that condo is awesome the area is still really mediocre and loaded with homeless people which is sad but not what i want outside my front door. For example, on my ride into work Monday a dude was just pissing on the sidewalk a block away from that building and last year one homeless guy bashed another over the head with a brick outside the barbershop around the corner.
Do you know many people that grew up south of Buckhead? Where do they live? Do you have any friends that grew up in Atlanta and if so, where do they live now and part of town they grew up in?
I don't know anyone that matches this... I don't know anyone that lives in Vinings off the top of my head. I know a good amount of people who live on the Marietta Square that grew up in Cobb Co.
Seems like you're getting defensive. Know 1 chick that great up south of buckhead and lives in East Atlanta Know a few who grew up in Decatur City and live on East side of ATL.
Know lot of ppl that treat Vinings/Smyrna like WED is saying. Just the new flavor burb, but actually better than most. Would rather talk about actual Atlanta things doe.
That's my point. I'm from Atlanta and also know literally only a handful of people (less than five) that are actually from Atlanta that live south of Buckhead in the areas where people who are not from Atlanta feel are the best of ATL to live in.
College Park has some really nice neighborhoods with historic homes. Know a few folks over there that actually have their 100+ year old blue prints up on the wall.
No clue. I was thinking High Cotton lived there but he lives by East Lake. He probably knows the area as he likely had some apt buildings there.
East Lake is just a few decimal places away from East Point in terms of per capita. Aside from that, and their demographics, very close.
East Point has had a nice resurgence in recent years and a nice downtown area that's been redeveloped. Benefits from proximity from the airport and what will be there in the future.
Agreed, but it still has good areas and bad from what I understand. I'm looking at some properties down there for flips, just don't know it well enough to know whether or not they're worth taking on. The best looking properties were in Jefferson and Conley. Center Park looked pretty rough.
Closer to Marta and the retail nodes the better, think walkability, commute to city, and schools. Tilly Mill has a few on sale now, we're about to be annexed into better schools. Still some potential.
Tentatively planning to spend 3-4 nights in Helen pretty soon. Current agenda includes fishing the soque through unicoi fly shop, fishing smiths creek, and hiking blood mountain and tallulah gorge. Am I overlooking anything cool to do up there? Hikes or other random shit. I am going to skip fishing Dukes Creek because I probably wouldn't catch anything.
I did Local Three this weekend. Side note: if you ever get the chance to drink Four Roses "Bunny Go Go Juice" private barrel bourbon, do it... some of the best damned bourbon I've ever tasted
Do report back. Sounds like you've got it covered outside of going to the wineries, but if its just you, I'd be sticking to fishing and hiking as well.
