I'm actually listening to the game. Goal kick, ball was just past midfield and Martin when us for header and got his elbow up to the face of the Norwich player. Guy rolled around, wasn't hurt at all. Announcers said it definitely shouldn't have been a straight red, but Martin was stupid to go up so aggressively for an unimportant ball. May be the end of Martin as hes out 3 now with 4 to play. We always seem to play better without him though. Hopefully Cyriac will get some time now.
Wednesday won, Huddersfield drew, Leeds plays later and Reading plays tomorrow. Going to be an exciting stretch run with 5 teams fighting for 4 spots. Glad we've got the GD tiebreaker on everyone.
You guys can really help us by beating Leeds today. Don't blow it for us like against Wednesday last week.
Regardless of how everything ends up, its really been an amazingly fun while often frustrating season to follow. finishing in the low 50s in points the last two years and being at 70 now with 4 still to play and a huge goal differential is an incredible improvement.
Leeds scores in the 95th minute to draw with Newcastle. 3 back of Leeds and Reading, 2 off Wednesday.
Was listening live. Totally worth 3 pounds a month to listen to the game. Hilarious, not exactly professional but fun to listen to. Kinda like if men in blazers called fulham games.
For anyone with access, game will be live online on beinsports connect at 6:45 am pst tomorrow. Replay on TV on bein at 11am pst.
btw I'm usually behind the curve on these things so I doubt I'm breaking news, but the OneFootball app is money. I highly recommend it.
Lots of rumors Liverpool want Sessegnon. Tell me about him. All I know is that he's one of the top youth prospects.
He is starting today but normally is on the bench and comes on as a sub in probably 2/3 of games. Not because he's not good enough, just because hes so young. Often when he comes on he looks like the best player right away. Quick, very creative with passing. Always seems to be in the right place. Think of Pulisic 6-12 months ago for the US. We knew he was our best player, but we were trying to bring him on slowly since he was so young. I feel like Slav tries to protect him and keep him a bit of a secret though. He had two goals in a game a couple months ago and Slav had Ream take a PK instead of sessegnon. Speculation was that if a 16 year old gets a hat trick that only makes more people know about him. I think he needs to play for another year or two before moving on to a big club because sitting with the reserves as he likely would do with a Liverpool wont help his development like playing first team. If he stayed with Fulham I would assume he's a starter next year. I don't see that happening though unless we make it to the prem.
Seems like we're looking at him to be our future left back. Doesn't look like we're going to replace Milner but shape sessegnon to replace him after next year.
Reading and Wednesday win but Leeds loses so we are back up to 6th on GD. Our last 3 are tough though. Huddersfield, Brentford, and Wednesday. I think we'd be lucky to get 4-5 pts so we'll need some help.
Sess and Cairney named in PFA team of the year. Also former keeper Stockdale. Cairney makes sense, but even though he has been fantastic, not sure how Sess makes the top 11 being he's only played in probably 1/2-2/3 of the games and mainly off the bench. He'll definitely be gone this summer if we don't make the prem. http://www.espnfc.com/english-leagu...in-championship-team-of-the-year-sessegnon-in
Only need one win in our last 2 to secure a playoff spot now. At wednesday will be very tough so better get all 3 at the cottage against Brentford
Already getting excited for Saturday. Clinching a playoff spot at the cottage would be amazing. English betting sites currently have Fulham as the favorite for promotion. Followed by Huddersfield, Wednesday, Reading, then Leeds.
Jesus. how many penalties have we missed this year? ridiculous. At least it looks like Leeds is doing their best to give us 6th anyways.
They just put it in perspective on the radio broadcast. 60 of the 91 teams in the football league have been given less total penalties than the number fulham has missed (9).
From listening to the game, it seems like we really outplayed Brentford. We just could not finish our chances, but maybe it was too much to expect five wins in a row. Looking forward to the playoffs, we are playing well. The cottage will have an amazing atmosphere for our home game. Come On Fulham!
