Well yeah, but have to assume this was the best offer we had. I won't be surprised if we take a QB at 32, I don't want to... but I could see them burning the pick for that 5th year option
Say, "Fvck you Pelini." Now you know what it is like on a very small level to be a Husker fan. Baptiste was a Converted WR. He was really tall and long for a CB, but that is what the NFL wanted after all the Seahawk's success. He did have potential, but was only a CB for a season and a half before graduating.
what makes me nervous about the trade is that we always fuck up draft picks. Also hoped wed pick high enough to pick oj howard but thats not happening now. now we dont have anyone left of the 08 10 12 and 14 draft classes, cant imagine we will have this issue with the 16 class
Something people aren't paying attention to (maybe you are): Tim Hightower hasn't signed yet, maybe he wants more than the Saints are going to pay? Which means....Loomis and Payton are taking a running back in the draft. Daniel Lasco could be the second guy up, but who knows because Payton loves to have 20 different running backs on the roster.
I'm not really worried about anything on our offense tbh. We signed a good G. Our line is set in my book, year in and year out we're a top offense in the league...doesn't matter who we sign, who we cut, who we trade. If we're going to win anything it's going to be defense. If I had to guess we gave Tim a #, if he beats it elsewhere he walks if not it's an open offer to come back.
Receiver depth 1. Michael Thomas 2. Willie Snead 3. Ted Ginn, Jr. 4. Brandon Coleman 5. Tommylee Lewis We need to draft a receiver in the later rounds. Coleman is only on the field because he's a good blocker.
I don't want to give a 1st round pick back for him after giving up Cooks I'll be pretty angry if that happens
If it's a 1st I'll be pissed, since we're giving him a big contract most likely it needs to be a 3rd.
No idea on Butler. It keeps going back and forth. As for AP, he's getting a one year deal for less than Ingram will be making this year, so I'm fine with it. But I don't see him as a great fit, we won't give him enough touches.
As a backup if Ingram gets hurt cool I guess? Not sure how he'll do getting 5 carries a game off the bench. Small cap number, no big deal to me.
1. Saints have a glaring spot at no. 2 on the depth chart behind Mark Ingram. We need someone back there. 2. If reports are accurate it looks like New England wants more than what we're willing to part with for the services of Malcom Butler. I hope we stay put and keep our draft picks.
Before we go and turn Lattimore into a shitty defender, this was a really good first round for us. I had lost confidence in our OL in recent years and this was a smart pick to protect Drew now and build an offense around after Drew. #43 tomorrow has to be back to defense, though. Demarcus Walker would do it for me, although that'd be a bit of a reach. He's a monster and we need pass-rush.
I saw the 11th pick, mostly happy with that. Would have taken one of the bams (Allen) there but that's homerism. We need CB help as much as we need pass rush. That was when I stopped watching the draft. What is the deal with the OL we picked?
Think we would have taken Foster if he would have fallen one more pick, but SF traded in front of us to get him. OL is solid, but I worry about his foot speed and NFL DE's so he's probably a guard candidate imo. Wisconsin OL are normally solid though.
One thing about the Ryan Ramczyk pick: That must mean the coaching staff isn't comfortable with Andrus Peat at right tackle.
yeah, i think thats fair. But a like of Armstead, Peat, Unger, Wafford, Ramchick/Strief is a line id be fine and trust to keep brees somewhat healthy
yeah, not liking the decisions today. No pick by itself is terrible but none of em are good/great picks and the ignoring of the pass rush is getting annoying
Hey we knew what we were doing for 3 picks, then clocked out and went home to enjoy our weekend. Make no mistake. This is monumental progress that should be celebrated. We might have a serviceable secondary that has the potential to be great now.
ow overall i really do like the results. Just think what couldve been picked on day 2 annoys me a bit. Id actually pick the exact same guys round 1. just for kicks the guys i wouldve picked witht he same picks 2.10 Obi Melifonwu 3.3 Jordan WIllis 3.12 TIm Williams 3.36 Desmond King Id gladly double dip on pass rushers certainly as we can play both in a 3-4 allignment
