Should have won, but will take the point as it looked like a loss for a while there. Benzema had his worst match as far as finishing goes that I can remember. He's been worse but usually he doesn't get in the action
No. Benzema had one poor finishing match. If anything Asensio is pushing to come in for Bale who hasn't looked great to start the season. I'm also in favor of going 4-4-2 diamond with Asensio and Isco in for Bale and Benzema if it becomes a problem.
Claims of a 105m euros bid for Bale from Man U. I would take it and run with it, but Zidane has said that he doesnt want to sell Bale: https://futbol.as.com/futbol/2017/08/28/primera/1503910453_441449.html?omnil=resrelrecomv
Frustrated with the way this window finished. Refusing to match for Mbappe, while disappointing, is probably the right move but not at all remotely convinced that Mayoral is enough support behind Benzema. Same with only Nacho to platoon behind the CBs & Carvajal. Too many games, too many aging vets, too many injures to think it's not going to cost them points this season.
Scored another one....he's not human. Tied the all time mark of goals in UEFA World Cup Qualifying - 13 goals in 6 games. I have a feeling he may break that...
Wanted to say thanks again for this advice - just picked up first row goal line seats for this weekend for less than I would have paid for all but the cheapest Cat 3 tickets on viagogo, which I would have done if not for this.
That's awesome man, hope you have a great time. Any idea which end you're on? The club moved one of more vocal supporters groups down directly behind the south goal which apparently has improved the atmosphere
We're on the north end - the wife didn't want to get yelled at for not being sufficiently enthusiastic about Marco Asensio, plus (unsurprisingly) there was a better selection on the north side.
Buy the poor woman an authentic kit (Isco/Ramos/CR7 would also be acceptable). Madrid is a world class city imo so hopefully you guys will have a great time
Perez confirmed that Isco has signed his renewal and that it (along with several others) will be presented next week. Best news of the summer
Also Marcelo wrote an article for TPT and its def worth a read. Can't help but love the guy https://www.theplayerstribune.com/marcelo-real-madrid-first-we-attack/
Fuck what a disaster....Marcelo This team needs Ronaldo back so bad Bale....yikes....would have traded him for Mbappe in a heartbeat
Board was down for me this weekend for some reason but I'm still pissed I woke up early to watch that. No second option behind Benzema took all of 1 week to come back and bite this team in the ass. So frustrating. Bale needs to figure it the fuck out toot sweet
Looking forward to seeing Ronaldo finally back in action, and Isco playing centrally underneath him & Bale. Would be nice to have Gareth grab a couple today and get some confidence building
He's just so good....pretty pass from Bale. Tough angle and he made it look so easy....fuck this team needs Ronaldo so bad.
Hope Kova is ok. Would like to see Ceballos in this spot instead and keep Kroos fresh for Sociedad this weekend.
Thought Bale was the best player going forward yesterday, hate that he got a mixed reception coming off the field Kovacic out 2 months with a muscle tear Marcelo extension until 2022
And because it deserves it's own post... "Real Madrid C.F. and Isco have agreed to extend the player's contract, which will see him remain at the club until the 30th June 2022. Tomorrow, Friday, at 2pm, Isco will appear before the media in the press room of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium."
I even texted you last weekend to check on you. Assumed you were washed out to sea when I didn't hear anything back
Finally got around to watching Sunday's match in its entirety. Great to see flashes of vintage Bale again. Hopefully he's finally returning to full health and we see more of that. Apparently Theo separated his shoulder so I expect he'll miss some time. Thankfully Marcelo & Ronaldo return tomorrow
Yeah...sorry for giving y'all the Arsenal AIDS. It was an awesome time, even though Levante scoring meant that even more so than we'd expect we saw none of the ball on our side for the second half. Even though I've been at soccer games before, I just really never had an appreciation for the space these guys have to play in and the vision they need to be in the right position or play the right ball until watching this game. Understood why he was resting to start, but it really felt that they missed Isco a lot in the first 75 minutes to direct traffic in the attacking third and for the final ball. The Bernabeu was a really nice gameday experience - super easy to get in and out of, passionate fans but definitely a super safe and pleasant experience for everyone, and probably most surprising, reasonably priced concessions. Some photos in the spoilers (I think they're huge): Spoiler
Yeah, as nexus recommended I waited until the Monday of the match week, when the returned tickets from season ticket holders went on sale on the Madrid website. Not cheap, but not outrageous for an experience (elite European league soccer) that I'll probably only get to do a few more times, and I wasn't paying an outrageous sum to some scalper. I got into Barcelona the night of the Juventus game, but fuck you guys.
Man that's awes... Hey wait a second! How long were you in Madrid and Barcelona? Curious to hear your thoughts on both cities
Madrid for 2.5 days, Barcelona for 3; snuck Granada in the middle, which I really liked as well. I really enjoyed them both - obviously a ton of history in both, with (for better and for worse) Barcelona being a little more polished, picturesque, and crowded, and Madrid being a little more buttoned up. The interior of the Sagrada Familia is awe-inspiring, and I had been reading about the Spanish Civil War and got a lot out of seeing Guernica and going to Montjuic. I feel like I spent the bare minimum amount of time in each to see what there is to see, a longer visit would have let me be less of a stereotypical tourist.
Feel like you missed out on Toledo. Toledo is some shit. But seeing Catalan art work ripped off by fascists in the nation's capital is cool, too It's pretty crazy how far Barcelona has come from the 92 Olympics alone. Low key, sewage wafts give me fond memories of my home away from home
I'm good, nothing happened during the hurricane other than losing power for about 36 hours. After the hurricane I helped FDOT with their relief efforts and that turned to 14-hr shifts everyday until Monday. I was so tired.
Finally going to see the 4-3-1-2 today with Isco behind Ronaldo & Bale. Excited to see what this looks like.
