Twitter people saying that his post about Westpoint could have been an nudge to traitorous Benedict Arnold (and now Trump) and that this one today is about Little Round Top in Gettysburg. also of note Trump is reportedly being investigated by this future attorney generals office, its why he fired Bharara and is personally involved with appointing the new person
Trying to keep himself and/or his family from being indicted for federal crimes related to their businesses, and having to pardon them. The NY AG's office is still gonna get them on state charges though.

I think Kelly is sucking all of this up to try and keep some modicum of sanity between Trump and the bomb. Rage at him seems seriously misplaced.
I'm of the opinion he thinks Trump is a good president and wants to help achieve Trump's goals. He hasn't been better at "controlling" Trump's behavior than Priebus. He isn't a hostage. We should judge him by what he does.

25th can’t work. It can only really work if the President was entirely incoherent. If he even sniffed it he would start by firing those he suspected, and even then it needs to be iniatiated by Pence.
The argument was that Kelly deserves a break because he’s exercising power to prevent madness. Either Kelly has power to influence or he doesn’t. If he does, it needs to be directed at applying the 25th. If he doesn’t, he deserves every last drop of venom. There is no middle room here where he gets his cake and gets to eat it, too.
