How do you think he would be any good kind of fit at all? I cant believe fans of any respected program would even consider him after what a disaster he was here. Hes easily the worst coach in our history. Why would you want that?
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/braxton-burmeister-1/gamelog/ Take a peak. Remember, aside from the Cal game, these are full 60 minutes he’s playing. No other QB played a snap. From the #1 offense in the country to that. Also they don’t include the 6 fumbles on there either.
You said hes better than Taggart. Charlie Strong is bad enough you should light yourself on fire in front of the stadium if he gets hired. What has Taggart done to be that bad?
If Taggart had stayed at USF and they had the same record (or likely better) he'd be a lock as a top candidate. I'm not sure why anyone would be down on him other than it's not Kelly.
Also Taggart was Tommie Frazier's backup at Bradenton Manatee. Is that relevant here? Fuck no. But I like the tidbit.
Charlie Strong has Taggert's USF team at 8-2 this year. I have no doubt that if Taggert were still there, they would have been undefeated heading into today's game with talk of a NY6 bowl.
Charlie received a stacked roster and has nothing to show for it. Guy on our board said it perfectly. It could be raining pussy and charlie would get hit by a dick. The Texas job was so far beyond his capabilities I really think he was happy to get fired. But yea stick him into the fire at UF.
They had an incredibly favorable conference schedule, especially compared to UCF. They barely squeaked by non bowl eligible Tulane and Tulsa despite having infinitely more talent than both teams.
While being marred by multiple key injuries on offense and being forced to start a true freshman qb. Competitive in every loss with one of the toughest schedules in the country. But yea we really want Charlie back.
Texas had the #17, 10, and 7 ranked classes in the 14,15, and 16 recruiting classes that make up the majority of the team. They may have been underdeveloped a bit, but the talent is there.
You said you were competitive in every loss and I pointed out one you weren’t really competitive in and were down by double digits majority of the game
Texas has shown some progress. They've found a QB. Herman needs to dump Tim Beck and hire Danny Langsdorf, though.
We were still in that game deep into the 4th q. Its not like we laid down or got blown out, which happened with regularity under Charlie. (You know, the guy who couldn't get his players to play hard against Kansas when they knew his job was at stake.)
If you want to say something about Herman, start here. Guy is terrible and i highly doubt hes going anywhere next season. I doubt we make any real noise next year as a result.
Beck has hurt many a coach. Even an all time great like Urban couldn't overcome him. Drop him like a bad habit.
Justin Herbert is really fucking good. Whatever they have behind that is really fucking bad. I think the thing that Oregon fans can take as a positive is with the right qb Taggert has looked pretty damn good (if they get another good defensive coordinator, the recruiting will be good, he is great at that.) The one thing that scares me a bit if I’m them, just how drastically it drops off without a good qb when they have a stable of really fucking good running backs. They looked like the Packers without Rodgers after he got hurt.
Basically because it seemed like a slam dunk for Florida, until it didn't. Plus, I'm a miserable cunt and misery loves company.
Neither I nor snowfx2 will be miserable because we didn’t think we’d get him and until he is signed we Fisch or on the Lane Express
About 90% of the posters on our private board were 100% certain that the contract was already signed and we were waiting for a good time to announce. I’m legitimately angry at the whole board for making me feel good about it.
Beard also said Chip was signed sealed and delivered to UF last Sunday night. People are just making shit up at this point.
Fuck. I think I'd have a stroke if I saw someone white knight for Illinois by taking the time to explain what a coach inherited.
We were pretty disappointed with his in-game adjustments, with both QB. We don’t blame him for having nobody behind Herbert (thanks Frost). All the other QBs were dogshit and now can’t even start at JuCo or Community College. They had a couple weeks to find a QB for the class and they stole 4* Burmeister from Zona. Who would’ve known that he can neither throw the ball downfield (too weak of an arm), throw the ball over the middle (too short), or handle a shotgun snap (hands too small). Our local walk on was ahead of him until he got concussed after Herbert got hurt.
Living in Jax, I want UF to be good. It makes college football more fun for me. I was hoping they'd get Chip. I don't know where they go from there but 10 years ago I didn't know where Bama would go after RichRod turned them down and that worked out so maybe it works out for them.
Wonder what Chip is doing on these interviews to cause the universities to cut off communication. Gotta be racial slurs, right? I think I’m gonna float that theory on my twitter account.
