I believe that’s mainly a Catholic belief and they’ve softened on it. The idea of works impacting your path to heaven is mostly Catholic and some of the more orthodox churches. Evangelical Protestants believe it’s mainly about faith, which is why they are so shitty. They believe their faith excuses them from being shitty from time to time and that by believing in Jesus they’ll go to heaven anyway.
