Just in case anyone didn't know, there's a post-credits scene on the season finale tonight. Spoiler Welcome back, Mr. Vera. Dude's a pretty giant POS but I really did start to be at least fascinated by him before he disappeared in season 1. Guy who plays him does a good job so I'm interested to see what part his character plays moving forward.
I was going to be heartbroken if my girl Dom was killed. I assumed they were going to kill Santiago but the fact they killed Shayla so easily had me worried.
I was actually surprised that Dom or Darlene didn't die in that barn. I thought for sure we were going to see an axe swinging in when Irving told Dom to just look at the sky and relax and it went to her POV.
I was supposed to know who that was? Godammit I need to go back and watch this series. I miss so much.
He was Shayla's (Elliot's dealer/girlfriend in season 1) supplier who Elliot got out of prison in an attempt to save Shayla but she was already dead.
What a great show. Thought this season was a perfect mix of style and substance. I enjoyed the tantrum by White Rose in the next to last episode with the girl playing the wine glasses as instruments never missing a beat. White Rose is a really fucked up, fascinating character.
It's official, the upcoming 4th season will be its last. Sam Esmail's decision to wrap it up. Season order expanded from 8 episodes to 12 episodes and will premiere in 2019.
I believe Esmail said early on that it would be 4-5 seasons so not too bad. If the viewership was higher I'm sure USA would be pushing for 5.
Ep 2 was underwhelming -- a lazy, long exposition to start the episode and a probably overcomplicating surprise to end it.
3rd personality?! Esmail said this is the beginning of the big twist of the whole show, and nobody has guessed it yet on reddit.
They haven't come back to this yet right? That and what the light Tyrell was staring at in the woods after he was shot haven't been covered I believe. There's still 8 more episodes though.
I could see the third personality being either Vera or the audience. I think they want us to believe it’s Leon.
I'm kindof amazed how good this season has been. Nailing every episode, no filler or clunkers. Giving me more and more confidence that Esmail is going to nail the ending.
Still at a 10.0 with over 10K ratings. Episode is officially in the GOAT territory, ranking #2, #1 for live action shows. And this week's episode is a 9.9, good for 6th overall.
Can’t wait for these final 4. I’m guessing the rest of the way will be focused on Elliott looking at the thumb drive and wanting to complete White Rose’s project/“machine”. I think it will have to do with some kind of simulated reality/AI and Angela’s consciousness was uploaded into it. That’s what the tests on her were about last season. It seemed like they were conducting a Turing test on her, but they were actually getting the baseline to do the Turing test on her upload. And then also resolving the mystery of all of Elliott’s alters of course. I don’t think the Elliott we know was the original Elliott. I also think he probably killed his dad with the baseball bat.
What if they’ve been trying to upload Elliott’s consciousness for a long time and a lot of what we’ve seen is him inside “breaking” or “solving” the system but he is stuck in some continuous loop?
Or what if White Rose’s machine was just purely a classic McGuffin and we never know exactly what it was.
Just started watching season 1. Only on episode 3, but it's pretty good so far. Elliot sort of reminds me of user bic.
havent started watching this season yet. is there a good recap before i start? how confusing is the finale
Going to finish Season 1 soon. I like it, but my God some of these characterizations are so over the top -- like reminiscent of hyperbolic 80s movie characters. From the too evil drug dealer to the too douchey/sleazy/corrupt corporate execs. Edit: That said, I do appreciate the show's acknowledgement of this by literally naming the main business "Evil Corp"
Spoiler I'm still on the fence about a true alternate reality vs. constructs of Elliott's mind. I kind of still think the machine is more of a metaphor. The scene in the power plant seems like it was staged to seem fake. I think I buy into the idea that the alternate reality is the world of Elliott's 3rd personality. "F Corp" blew my mind with the idea that this could be the 6th iteration (A, B, C, D, E, F Corp) of either a loop (Alderson Loop) or parallel reality. This fuckin show.
Spoiler Lot of interesting theories out there. Has the entire show been the "alternate reality" created by Elliott? Or is what we just watched the "alternate reality" and how does it play into the actual reality? Or is there truly a parallel universe (this seems like the least likely option)? I am still wondering how Darlene/Dom play into this all. That whole plane episode was too bizarre to not come back into play somehow. This show has been probably the best executed / most thought out show I have ever watched. The way they have tied everything back together with clues along the way has been brilliant.
