Just bought some Litecoin using Coinbase and want to use some of that to buy Ripple. Which App is best for exchanging cryptocurrency?
Sign in to GDAX (tied to coinbase) and transfer it from Coinbase, then use GDAX to send it to whatever exchange you want to use.
Coinbase to GDAX to Binance for Ripple imo. For any coin you're interested in, go to coinmarketcap.com and click on the market tab. It will tell you on which exchange you can get the coin. When you're transferring, make sure you know what your doing and select the correct coins. I just got into all of this last week so I feel your pain

Bitgrail and Mercatox were overloaded earlier. All is good now. Bitgrail also supposedly lowered their fees to withdraw. There's a new exchange coming in the new year for XRB.

Also it's the Koreans who jack up the price shown on coinmarketcap. This is nothing new but seems more prevalent lately.
I am by no means an expert but it seems safe to say ripple is one of the top alts to own with a lot of people banking on a move to coinbase boosting the value. Also, there is a massive amount of ripple out there, so the price can be a bit deceiving when comparing to bitcoin and the others. If XRP gets in the neighborhood of $7 it will have a market cap equal to the current market cap of Bitcoin.
I just tried to sign up for a GDAX account and it said my 2step verification # (text) is wrong. Any idea why this is happening? It says my phone isn't a trusted device, even though that's all I've ever used.
I've got a negligible amount I want to throw at an alt coin... roughly 30 bucks sitting unused in GDAX. Right now I've got 500 ripple and the rest of my money in the big 3. Anything under .50 cents worth taking a little risk on? I have cryptopia, binance, and gdax.

Where do you guys find the new coins to invest in? I found a website last night (Trading View) that has some of that but was looking for other sources. Looked at Heritage as a place to buy the coins but not sure the best deposit method and the best discovery method. Uptick in volume?
This is not the proper way to look at something. You need to evaluate market cap and total number of coins. Xrp is not "cheap" at $1.20 because there is a massive circulating supply, etc.

No, It's pretty cheap right now compared to where it was before the fake news. That said, it still looks like it might come down a bit more today.
