lol, ol keith got that good tasting dick to have y'all condemn any and all unflattering opinions. any improvements are marginal, if at all, and nowhere near the promises made. Plug & play another official, could've gotten better results with someone who didn't treat the job like a stepping stone. Enjoy your commute, maybe they keep the lights on now.
Clustertruck is awesome. This is good news. https://whatnowatlanta.com/clustertruck-virtual-foodtrucks-atlanta/
Single 28 year old male leaving Los Angeles in 2 weeks to spend the next 5 months working Atlanta. I'll be living in Buckhead, and working near Georgia Southern most of the time. Ask and tell me anything please. I'm nervous about living in the "south" for the first time in my life.
Welp, these are two separate issues. what neighborhood(s) in Los Angeles do you currently live or hang out just to get an idea as to what youre accustomed to? as long as you stay within Atlanta proper, its not "South" like the rest of the South. Some touch of it, but you can hardly notice it. Very transient, diverse city. Georgia Southern is a long af way from here. And a 180degree difference culturally. Ts and Ps. So where you will be spending time for Work is going to be entirely different than Personal time.
Oops meant to say Georgia state. And I live in Koreatown so I don’t really expect to find a similar situation in ATL. Before I was in Ktown I lived on the west side (Marina Del rey/Culver City area). I’m looking forward to the aquarium. And I hear there are a disproportionate amount of good looking girls in ATL?
Ah yea gotcha, Georgia State is downtown. You will be fine there during work hours. Some solid lunch spots up Edgewood and in the Poplar St district. Can commute via Marta if need be. But our Downtown is dead like LAs unless there is an event happening. Not a lot of similarity between a Culver City and Buckhead tbh. Lot more Yuppy. But Buckhead is easy enough to live/navigate for a short period of time. Youre for sure going to want to go out in Decatur a few times. East Atlanta Village bars. Inman Park. Once weather warms up youre going to want to explore The Beltline - plenty of talent to be seen. Basically just ask questions about whats happening or you will see a ton of food recs itt, most of us eat out or go out a good bit. Spring/Summer festivals will be starting up soon. Look up tickets to Shaky Knees fest in May, they just released their lineup and its pretty solid. Steelers bar = Smiths Olde Bar Pens bar = try Diesel, but plenty of places will have TVs for it.
My favorite thing to do last spring was head to upstairs JCT to drink, cross the way to taqueria for enchiladas and margaritas then over the bridge to ormsbys. I'm ready to get back on track when it warms up.
No, but its free, which will save me ~$2k a month so definitely worth having to sit in traffic/take the train. By the way, how is the MARTA? I got rid of my car in LA like a year and a half ago, and our public transit isn't even that good but I'm still really happy with the decision. My guess is the best way to commute will be taking MARTA part of the commute then finishing it with an Uber?
Oh, figured work was paying for it. You can take MARTA from Buckhead to Ga State. GSU has a stop. I ride it daily....it's fine
The space is as impressive as it gets, the food their is top notch and the beer is even better. Something different than we’ve got in Atlanta right now.
Yea p sure I saw on their social media they have flat screens and projectors. Could be just for bigger events.
Hopefully the falcons playoff game is considered a big event or I’ll just drag my people down the beltline somewhere.
I used to live in the AMLI O4W and seeing all the exciting shit that is happening around there is breaking my heart. Building wasn't all that nice but that was such a clutch location.
So I've stolen aan idea from Reddit for me and Mrs WED. 2018 Goal. Go to a new to us restaurant ever week for the year. I'm a week behind so suck my dick but.... Week 1 - El Ray Del Taco Shit was good af. Love me some simple tacos
Speaking of tacos... Anyone been to the place that just opened on Boulevard and Freedom Parkway? Can't remember the name.
Still amazes me to talk with people who have lived in Atlanta for a few years or more but never been on Buford highway for meals
El Del Ray Taco has literally the best Micheladas I've ever had, went there this summer en route to Tallulah Gorge. Had their Lengua taco because of this article as well, which wasn't honestly the best one I had, but still tasty. Love Buford Highway with all my heart , but wish I went more. The Korean BBQ there is much more economical than the overpriced Char. Also, my Indian gf says the best Indian Food she's had in the US&A and maybe ever is at Zyka in Decatur. Chicken 65 there is apparently utterly delicious. One of her friends who lives in NYC was flying through ATL this summer for a night, and ordered 12 Chicken 65s to go... for her 100 lb self. Been meaning to try it, has anyone been?
Taco Cantina is the new place I was talking about one one Freedom and Boulevard. https://www.yelp.com/biz/taco-cantina-o4w-atlanta
Why always the kicking from others when 2 people are fighting? Hate seeing that so much. Also, anyone been to Deep End in the old 4th and Swift building yet?
