No, those are not shitcoins IMO. It's mostly my pet cat Monkey Project that I'm trying to get the Masternode set up for.
BCH is a shitcoin. It's more centralized, the face of the project is an expat who literally went to jail for mailing explosives, and it's only relevant because they spend a ton of money buying domains like bitcoin.org and twitter handles like @bitcoin and trick consumers into buying a product they don't want by marketing it as the 'true vision of Satoshi' and saying the tx fees are less (because no one uses their shitcoin to transfer value). Literally the only reason it hasn't dropped into nothingness like Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Diamond and other shitty offshoots is because they pumped the price with an insider trading scheme with Coinbase and CNBC and they've tricked ignorant consumers into buying the wrong thing.
Are you planning to hold longterm? Trying to avoid short term capital gains taxes? Just looking to make the most money possible in short amount of time? Those all influence advice, but I'd say long-term that btc and eth are things I believe in the most, so 50/50 of those.
dblplay1212, just register on coinbase and do this shit already. buy some BTC/ETH and experience these great times with your crypto tmb buddies. 30% BTC 30% ETH 40% mixture of all the shitcoins I'm hodling. I'll sell to you directly, low low price, only slightly above market value.
LTC seems to jump the most right after a crash. Largely because people buy it with plans of a quick and cheap transfer to then buy BTC.
Welp, I've realized some short term losses on this pull back to lower my potential large tax bill at the end of 2018. I've moved more funds into FCT as well. Never owned more FCT than I do now. I'm ready for this Q1/Q2 lift off.
Maybe not officially back but it’s nice to see some green. At this point, 30% swings seem to be the norm. The only thing that’s unlikely appears to be steady numbers or flat movement.
Any guesses as to whether this is a turnaround or just a temporary bounce on a continued downtrend? I’d guess the latter
It would need to break out of 10k to beat the short term steeper bear trend and up closer to 13500-14000 to break the longer term channel.
What are some good exchanges besides Bittrex? My co-worker is wanting to get in on a couple coins but Bittrex is closed to new accounts right now.
Go to coinmarketcap and search for it, then click on markets and it will show trading volume by exchange
Think it's likely to be Jin Coin, only traded on CoinExchange, an exchange I've never heard of, which has BitConnect as its 3rd most traded coin in the past 24 hours. I've dealt with some shady exchanges, but that would spook me.
It's a soon to be released coin from what I can tell. It's not listed on any exchanges yet. He's been following it and has heard it would be on Bittrex. If nothing else he can send me money when it's released and I'll buy it on my Bittrex account. But what other exchanges would y'all use for buying/selling alts? Not necessarily the big 3.
I mainly use Bittrex and Binance Then Cryptopia, Kucoin and EtherDelta for obscure stuff. But there are a ton of other ones too. If the Slack/etc doesn't give any hints then tell him good luck guessing what exchange it will be listed on..
I'll pass the info. He's pretty sure it's going to be bittrex but he can't open an account since they are closed to new accounts right now.
Interesting article regarding tokens: https://www.coindesk.com/blockchain-token-velocity-problem/ Specifically mentions Factom as one that has a good issuance model to help with velocity issues.
Yeah they got rid of it, it seems. I have made about $60 in referral fees, thanks for not trading more and keeping my portfolio afloat losers.
I'll use whatever the hell I need to if I need to get a coin. I've used these: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a066c969c200700c2e5127b https://www.binance.com/?ref=12120905 https://hitbtc.com/?ref_id=5a5985d1d9229 https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=7dK3Ng https://www.bit-z.com/user/signup?pid=1248823&lang=en https://livecoin.net/?from=Livecoin-dGphh9nA https://sso.coss.io/api/invite/TB7U7P2QUV heh...not sure how many of these sites are still doing referrals but those are my referral links. For real though, I've used many. Advice: 1) Look up withdrawal fees first before buying. For example, HitBTC rapes you with high fees with some coins if you want to withdraw them. 2) Get your coins off these smaller shadier exchanges as soon as you buy. I've also used: huobi cryptopia coinexchange etherdelta someone suggested forkdelta but I haven't used
Took me a minute. I was looking for a penis then I saw the Dino. Pretty bummed to not see a penis tho
I've been staking a new coin DV7 that's still in presale for 4 days now. Started with 200 coins I got in an airdrop, have earned stake rewards of 120 so far. I can't wait to see how mad people get when it hits exchanges and everyone tries to dump their staked coins and prices dump way below presale levels. Should be a blast.
"When I dip you dip we dip" -Freak Nasty, 1997 Sitting at 40% BTC 30% ETH 30% VEN and just waiting for things to climb back up. Sitting negative on BTC and VEN right now but I'd taken out my initial $ investment from ETH when it hit its all time high, and playing with house money there.
More like two weeks ago for me. Whatever, though. I'm long everything - it'll be fine. Alt coins might die off but there will be some big fish in the crypto space that survive. I can't seem Ethereum going anywhere.
This is not directed at your GF, but a lot of people dumped a lot of money in this that they couldn't afford to lose. This is pure speculation, and nobody should be spending money that they aren't completely okay losing. I worry that a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money that they can't afford to lose on this.
There was an article a while back that was discussing the dip and there were quotes from people freaking out because they had put in 60% of their savings, etc. It's crazy. I'm fine in the dip and caught some alts low enough, but I'm pretty maxed on how much I want in crypto for now. Unfortunately it seems like a great time to buy.
Who knows? But a lot of coins that are popular in this thread are comparitively inexpensive right now and are tempting to me.
oh i know. and neither of us invested anything that we couldn't easily afford to lose. she just likes to overreact to these kind of things.
Could be. Starting to look like this bounce may be a trend reversal but looking for it to break a few more levels of support first
Looks like I’m getting in. Have a meeting schedule for between my flights with the creator of a blockchain Tech for renewable energy. Gonna be valued at 12.7m after the Ico closes tonight. Friend works for them and they opened it up to friends and family for the last 24 hours of the ico. “It's a tech company utilizing block chain and ai to buy/sell renewable energy credits” is what they told me. Reading their pitch deck as we fly to charlotte.
