Rory the first ever player to lead the field in strokes gained putting, driving distance, proximity to the hole, and scrambling in the same tournament.
Between his name, what he was wearing and what I learned during the telecast today, I can’t imagine a douchier golfer than Bryson DeChambeau.
Bryson doesn't bother me near as much as he does the rest of you. He's probably a real wiener, but I kind of enjoy his unconventional game.
He names his clubs. Named his 60° wedge “The King” after Arnold and sucks at chipping. Don’t sully the moniker, you millineal douche bag.
He thinks his superior brain is going to reveal the “correct” way to play golf. The guy is insufferable.
Quote from him: "You look at guys who have been so innovative in the world today, they were called weird or quirky," DeChambeau told ESPN. "The one I go back to is Albert Einstein. Nobody thought he would amount to anything. He is kind of an idol of mine, too."
Why do people claim he’s smart? Nothing I’ve ever heard about him has impressed me. Is every physics major considered an egghead? Plus he used a very specific course management system to win the ncaa then he pretended like it all came from his brain. Didn’t credit the creator at all who had coached him along the way. Infuriated the guy and they went their separate ways immediately. I can promise Fawcett (the creator of the decade system) is smarter than that little cunt and he’s not going around pretending like he’s some genius.
I’d be more impressed if he actually graduated with a degree in physics. Anyone can “major” in physics.
I’d be surprised if he even passed the ap test in high school. I’d bet he’s a spoiled little shit whose parents made him think he’s a lot smarter than he really is. That’s great that he understands the physics of a golf swing and a putting stroke, but you learn that level of physics in high school.
Not to mention him referencing the "air density" when they were talking about his approach into the 18th green
Wins in 2018 in the lead up to Augusta: • Rahm • Fleetwood • Casey • DJ • Day • Bubba • Phil • JT • Rory Oh, and Tiger has three straight top 15s. This feels unfair.
I was wrong. Tiger's ass puckered and Rory put on a clinic. The past two weeks have been must watch tv. Almost a major feel to them. This is fun
Golf is such a weird game. I doubt that much even changed with Rory and his putting. I bet his mind just came across some positive little thought and it snowballed from there.
Just spent 3 days out at Pinehurst. Played #7 on Thursday. #2 and #9 on Friday and #8 and the Cradle Par 3 nine hole course on Saturday. Pretty awesome experience. Had a group of 16 and stayed on property. One of the guys in our group ran into DJ Pie from the No Laying Up podcast who was out there and had him jump in and play the Cradle with us. Dude was pretty cool. Broke into 2 man teams for the Cradle. My team won with a -3 score. I had two of the birdies for my team. One of the guys threw in an Ace on the Cradle as well. Trip exceeded my expectations....helps when you make money
Just realized my sister in law’s wedding is Masters Saturday. Really sucks Spoiler it’s going to be a fun wedding. I’m sad to miss it.
I've spent a lot of time at Pinehurst but haven't been back since the Cradle was open. Everything I've heard has been phenomenal.
Jupiter Island primarily. I know it and some of the others are seasonal. I'm coming down to visit my girlfriends parents and want to sneak a round in. Was wanting to figure out if the courses are even open before I start trying to call in favors. The people I know that stay down there all leave in May.
It might be weird this year since Easter is so early and that tends to be the go home mark. The courses should still be open around that time though. The only one I know that for sure closes is Seminole. The rest should be open most of the year I’m also available to play FYI
