All these guys and the professional esport guys know they have a shot clock on their career. Eventually every game’s popularity fails and their niche becomes smaller and smaller. It will be interesting to see how Ninja translates to life after Fortnite. Guys like Doc/Tim/Summit are a personality more than just known for a specific game, but even shroud has stayed relevant with PUBG being in the dumpster.
I'm fairly new to all this stuff, but I know ninja was big in Halo. Did folks wonder what he'd do once Halo faded? My guess is that he'll continue to adapt to new, popular games.
I mean, he’s just naturally very good at FPS’. He will probably be top tier at any game he puts effort into. If he can stay entertaining to viewers he will maintain a good audience no matter the game.
Why did I go to all this school and spend my days wishing I were doing something else? All those shit bags who told us to go to college deserve a kick right in the dick.
I think it's somewhat similar to athletics. Some folks can try all they want, spend all of the time and money they want, but they're simply not going to be able to hit a 98 mph heater...or the 82 mph bender right after it. Maybe that's a little to the extreme, but just buying an expensive chair and sitting in it for hours on end playing a game is not going to make you the best at it.
Starting in the Fall Georgia High School Association is recognizing "esports" as a sanctioned sport. 5 games are League, Smite, Icons, NBA2k18, and Rocket League.
I used to play Halo 3 and Gears competitively. I was never the best, but I was pretty good. I like to think I could inspire the cringe necessary to appeal to a large audience.
Obviously you can see one of the most popular genres is completely missing and understand why that is.
I get that, definitely. It's just weird thinking about the esports scene as a whole and realizing there's only about 4 different types of games that become esports.
Three mobas and no Dota? Odd choice. LoL and Rocket League are obvious choices, 2K is fine,l and probably better choice than FIFA given its the USA, and obviously can’t have shooting games, but weird no smash brothers or fighting game etc
smite bc its really popular and not isometric league because it's less sweaty than dota i don't know what icons is
