I’m rewatching your game from yesterday at the moment. Extremely impressed with your performance though you didn’t get a goal from open play. Really think you guys had as many good chances in the game as juve did.
Maybe unlucky to not get one from open play (I still think Isco was onside) but it doesn't change the fact that they were unbelievably sloppy for much of the first 60 minutes
Mandukjic is just a horrible match up vs a LB in the air. You guys peppered Buffon. Salah and mane could have a lot of success if you guys push your outside backs forward into attack (with Marcelo that’s a given). We will have a hard time matching up with your midfield
Carvajal overlaps just as much, thus the problem. If th midfield can't press and win the ball back/slow the break there's literally 50 yards of open space down each flank. Against Juve Modric and especially Kroos struggled to pressure the ball and Casemiro got caught out/easily beat several times which lead directly to the first 2 goals. Which was especially frustrating because it was totally unnecessary up 3 goals at home and starting a 19 CB making his first ever CL start. Salah ran rampant back in '16 when they matched up in the R16. Thankfully he couldn't finish worth a shit back then but with they way the front three break they could rip Madrid's backline to shreds
Bayern is great but think it will match up a lot like city vs us which I don’t think is a bad thing. I know it was preseason but we wiped the floor with them this year.
1 Roma 2 Bayern 3 Madrid I think we could surprise Madrid in a one off when they come out to blow our doors off and we hit them on the counter a few times but over 2 legs they are just too good
I think all three teams we could face have a midfield better than ours. Roma has Raja, strootman and de Rossi. All three teams are tough but that’s what you get this far into the competition.
Obviously having less opportunity to qualify is better but league is more a concern than Europa I’d think. Not sure what the last 5 matches looks like for everyone in the mix but 2 back of 4th currently How much does it go up if they do qualify?
Out of curiosity Leipzig (46 points, +3 GD) Bremen - A Hoffenheim - H Mainz - A Wolfsburg - H Berlin - A 12, 7, 16, 15, 10 Frankfurt (46 points, +7 GD) Leverkusen - A Berlin - H Bayern - A Hamburg - H Schalke - A 4, 10, 1, 17, 2 Leverkusen (48 points, +15 GD) Frankfurt - H Dortmund - A Stuttgart - H Bremen - A Hannover - H 5, 3, 9, 12, 13 Schalke on 52 and Dortmund on 51. I’d think those 2 finish top 4 but if Leverkusen were to beat them it could get interesting
Definitely not favorites to finish top 4. Either way won’t make a world of difference to us. When we tried to get Keita in early in January, Leipzig wanted TAA as a part of the deal. Bet Leroy is pissed that didn’t happen.
Yeah won’t break you for sure but I’d say root for Leverkusen this weekend over Frankfurt then at least a point vs Dortmund. Leipzig should take at least 12 points but they haven’t played like they should plenty
Also I wish TAA were in Germany though I thought Sané did much better the 2nd Leg than the 1st (he couldn’t have done much worse)
De Bruyne was proper shit in both legs. Pep needs to learn that the long schedule takes a toll. Fergie was a master at it, would rest players early in the season so they'd be fresh in March-May.
Has nothing to do with that. Pep won’t play any other way than his way. It plays right into our hands.
City had a fuck ton of chances, you also didn't get much Aguero. Not diminishing your performance but City were bad and golden boy De Bruyne never gets any hate towards him.
totally triggered with you giving us 40 million for his 4 goals this year, definitely the reason for your success
He’s been great for us Thought he was great. Unplayable for the first half. Ox has been great for us the last two months. Developing into a great player for us.
mc415 how did you get tickets when you went to anfield? Need to figure out how and where to get tickets in Rome.
If you aren’t already a LFC member, do that now in hopes to be able to get away tickets. I’d also recommend joining Roma Give yourself as many chances as possible to purchase for face.
If you get tickets that aren't away tickets make sure you check the rules because they often don't allow you to wear visiting club apparel outside of the away section.
I went to http://ticketbis.net/ it was kinda shady I literally met some dude in front of Anfield with envelope like 15-20 mins before the game lol but it worked out! I think they are owned by stubhub They will be much cheaper at Roma than Anfield but I would buy them earlier than later, we waited too long for Anfield and it cost us about an extra $100 we waited 2 days before the game
This as well we met a guy from Colorado who didn’t know this and tried to get in anfield wearing MC jersey they didn’t let him in
Lfc haven’t done their sale of the away allotment yet so I’m hoping I’ll be able to find them on stubhub once they go on sale.
Yeah price is irrelevant. You have to go. When are you going to have another opportunity. It might literally be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Treat yo self
