I guess for everyone that couldn’t believe why the Braves wouldnt view Camargo as a starter, maybe the 1 hit in 5 games since becoming the starter and .200 average for the season?
i dont think we should either i just don't think the situation to that year is comparable to this year as far as overall team.
I guess you should suck my dick? Is 5 games really going to outweigh last year? He isn't going to stay at 3rd bc of his lack of power, but he can be a starter at SS in this league
Unlike 2007, there are clear and soon to be ready/available back of rotation options in house with Kolby Allard, Luiz Gohara and Max Fried. They also have a farm system with absurd depth, allowing them to make a big trade and also have plenty of ammo to help the bullpen should the need arise. The other thing that pisses me off about this is while, yes, the Teix trade was a robbery in terms of value given to Texas, first base was *absolutely* one of their biggest needs. That team was starting Scott fucking Thorman (-0.9 bWAR in 120 games in 2007) and 48-year old Julio Franco (0.0 bWAR in 15 games for ATL in 2007) at 1st base until Teix came. Teix also hit .317/.404/.615 and put up 2 WAR in 54 games played. Did they need pitching? Sure. But they also had a gaping black hole at 1B and filled it as well as they possibly could have dreamed of.
Look at this guy only using batting average to measure a hitter. .200/.333/.486 Guess walks and extra-base hits don't mean anything.
Also, it's not like we gave up that much. Harrison had a couple of pretty good years, Feliz was great for like two, Andrus has had an up and down career that has overall been good. Yeah those guys all happened to click for Texas in 2010-2011 but 3/4 propsects in that trade disappeared rather quickly or just never even showed up. I'm not sure what we would have ever done with Andrus, and we had kimbrel as a closer along with a plethora of set up guys at the time. The package was a pretty good one for what we needed/what we had to offer
the more painful what if from that was we traded him for nothing to the angels, the angels let him walk and used the resulting compensatory pick to take some guy named trout http://grantland.com/the-triangle/mark-teixeiras-trade-deadline-butterfly-effect/
I’ve seen you act like a bitch over similar stretches of production... Just admit you were being a bitch. A wrong bitch.
Right. Harrison was worth just over 7 fWAR from 08-12, then Texas paid him $55M and got -0.1 fWAR out of him before he retired. Feliz was worth 4.3 fWAR from 08-15. Salty was worth 0.0 fWAR for Texas before being traded. Andrus was worth 17.4 fWAR before signed to his $120M extension. Beau Jones never made it to the Bigs. The package gets talked about, but it's really just Andrus that fucking burned Atlanta.
He has been very good as a starter if you look past 5 games Using a 5 game sample size is stupid. Also is just looking at average
In 5 games as a starter he has not been good, yet you cried every game he didn’t start. The average is for the season, his OBP is not good and slugging is non existent since he’s been a starter. He’s drawn walks, but again, 1 hit. You were also whining about Flaherty not hitting well in small sample sizes and pointing to that as a reason why Camargo should be in there. So just pointing out it’s a long season and stop being a bitch.
Flarhety has never hit. He wasn't even supposed to be the starter until Camargo got hurt in ST. He's called the GOAT for a reason
dmx has a defunct brain and i can’t believe people are having even passing discussions with him pls do better everyone
No we said Flaherty couldn’t hit based on the large sample of his entire career where he has an OPS of .654 which is 130 points below Camargo’s career number and 150-160 points below what Camargo has averaged between AAA and the majors between the last two years. Not to mention that Camargo projects to be on the team past this year so if the production is even close and Flaherty could play the same role off the bench, it’s obvious Camargo should be getting more reps, especially since he’s a young player
