Going back to the assholes in metal thing. This guy has been labeled a nazi but denies it. Kill someone, eh I’ll shrug it off if the music is good, he may have had a good reason. Idk I wasn’t there and I’m not ultra PC when it comes to music. Not that I’m promoting murder or anything. The racist stuff just bugs me and turns me away. These guys are cool. More French metal I know all this stuff is super hipsterish but I like it. Something about French women get to me. I’m pretty sure I fell in love with the cute and friendly bartender that was across from our Airbnb in Paris. We were only there 3 days but I would quit my job and follow her around the world if she’d have me.
Listening to some symphonic black metal this morning to help wake me up. I’m not much of a cofee drinker.
These guys are from Romania. Haven’t listened in several years but just thought about them earlier. I like finding stuff from all over the place and see how they incorporate their ethnic and cultural stuff into their music. As long as it rocks I like the variety. Metal and music in general is a universal language imo.
I really liked the previous Khemmis albums but I totally agree with you guys. That song sounded bland and boring.
Ahab is probably my favorite doom band of all time. My sub-genre pedantry is trying to determine where I draw the line between doom, sludge, and general "stoner metal."
I had never heard Ahab till you posted. I’ll need to listen all the way through but it sounds pretty badass. I know Bongripper. Good stuff. I’ve been listening to more black metal.
I don't know if you have even heard of this band before, but this ENTIRE ALBUM absolutely SLAYS and is everything I love about heavy music. PLEASE give them a listen
my current favorite black metal band is Tsjuder (pronounced “shoo-der”). they play true, old-school Norwegian black metal with insane, blistering pace, quality production, and catchy riffs. it’s nothing innovative, but about as perfect a representation of the genre as you could find. Desert Northern Hell is a classic album. added bonus is that they don’t seem to have any of the baggage other bands in that scene carry.
Uada has a new album out and it’s great after the first listen. US black metal with great songwriting and a definite appreciation for melody. Similar to Mgla.
If you two are through sucking each other off there was a new Voidhanger that came out without much fanfare.
I’ll listen to it because I liked the album art and the song you posted a while back. I’ve never listened to the band before.
I would say dont waste your time on the whole thing. Listen to the song I posted above and leave the rest alone
Elder is going to be here in August, but it's on the same day as my mom's birthday so we'll see what happens
