Probably too late Devine but I was cut off at the chili’s near the pavilion once on the way to a concert. They don’t party but their queso and tequila shots should be an appetizer. I’m not proud of that instance... but I’m not embarrassed either.
Little Woodrow’s in midtown remodeled their outdoor area and it’s soooo much better. That may be the spot today
I love their five dollar ring toss game. I usually suck at carnival games but somehow am 2/2 in getting the ring around a good bottle of whiskey.
Have any of you ever attended an event or show at a place called The Secret Group in East Downtown (near 8th Wonder)? A buddy from college is doing stand-up there on Saturday night and my wife and i are planning on going, but this is his first show there and he said he still doesn't know a ton about the place. https://www.thesecretgrouphtx.com/ Info on Saturday's show, it's 'pay what you want' which will be the first time we've gone to such an event, but I've seen them advertise for other shows with such a set-up previously: https://www.thesecretgrouphtx.com/event/1652373-headliner-series-mike-macrae-houston/
I live in the neighborhood, so I've been to a few shows there. Pretty dive-y, but they're good people. It's right around the corner from 8th Wonder, Truck Yard, Woodrow, Luckys and Rodeo Goat, if you're looking for places to eat/drink before the show. Ghostland Observatory is also playing a free concert in front of GRB Saturday night if that's your thing.
Thank you sir, i appreciate the feedback. I actually like hearing that the place is pretty divey and of course it's nice to know that they're good people. And thanks for the heads up regarding Ghostland, too. I probably saw them 3 or 4 times over a couple year span (each time they made it to Houston) which seems like it was close to a decade ago now. It seemed like the set-list was exactly the same each show, but we always had a good time, even if i blacked out pretty bad at one of the warehouse live shows. thanks again
I haven’t been myself, but according to my buddies it’s supposed to be dope AF. HtownTide can confirm.
Confirmed cool spot. Got a stage for live music and plenty of beer. Kind of crowded when we went and hard to get a drink but that was also the first week so maybe its gotten better. Legit spot to go before Stros games though
I believe so And a Pat Green open air music venue is opening south of the Toyota Center, which I think came from D/FW.
It's nice to see us not turning our nose up at an inferior city and welcoming them to share their culture and contribute on the big stage
I bet if dump ever left the 10 mile radius between his parents house and work he would enjoy the GOAT Texas city
Hopefully I’m going to the Astros game tomorrow night. I’m down to go to pitch 25 tomorrow for the games if anyone wants to meet up. #devine
