I would but High Cotton texted me and told me to stop being a pussy so I grabbed the SKX009K1 and a leather band. But who’s to say I won’t buy a Prospex next month?!
You should buy the prospex too. I'm likely going to get the gold one with leather strap and a gold bracelet from strapcode. You can never have enough auto seiko's. dbl should keep that prospex forever in the rotation and get the pepsi rolex. I'll keep my pepsi and black SK007's forever even with the Explorer II incoming. I'm supremely anal about matching my watch to my belt buckle and then loafer bits and cuff links if I'm wearing them. Just sold a pair of rancourt beefroll loafers on ebay today so likely going to put the rest of my swiss army and desert sand cerakote modded seiko's up as well.
In need of a dress watch and I know I want to go with the classic brown leather strap and stainless steel case. Really like the blues and the way the one below looks, but does anyone know anything about the brand? The watch below is a 1969 Quartz by About Vintage and is available here for $250. Would prefer one with a date, which I can find online, but can't find out a lot about the brand. Anyone? Any better alternatives that are a better bang for your buck but around the same price point?
I would beware of a watch with mineral crystal instead of sapphire. That is allegedly more fragile and susceptible to scratches (never had one to test it). In that price range, I would be searching for a hamilton jazzmaster quartz, or maybe something like this: https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-mens-watch-t0636101603700.html
Any recommendations for $500-1,000 daily wearer? Workplace is business casual and I’m a t-shirt and jeans guy on the weekend.
Yup. He actually got 4 supposedly. 3 were gone before he could post them. I may get to post pics with one soon .
I know nothing about watches. Everything I've seen said $9k? I guess theres a premium for early releases?
Picked up my first Seiko, an inexpensive 6309-9009 circa ‘78. It’s banged up and fine for daily wear.
Bought my second Seiko, a new SKX009K1. I really dislike the original band, swapped in this $15 amazon special.
As a tank owner I disagree with this post. They lost their way in the 80’s/90’s (along with a ton of other brands) but they’re putting out good stuff now.
This and Seiko divers are why I can't justify a Submariner, I love the Carl Brashear so much. Think I'm going to roll with the 44mm Seiko Prospex Gold diver, any other suggestions for bronze/gold in this price point? Thinking of the bronze Tudor Black Bay, but likely will go Speedy Pro first.
I have this on black rubber and love it. Anyone in the market for this I was kicking around a Longines Hydroconquest in the same look/price point.
I wasn't trying to be so apologies...it's about what someone values those items be it a watch or a shoe. I would think your sneaker collection is north of 22k and some would find that crazy....just like the pepsi rolex.
