Alright. I dont have a Hyatt card, just a CSR. Also have a Chase SW card that I've had for a while. Could I just roll that over to my CSR? With the CSR, it isn't worth using anymore
Nah, the airline and hotel branded credit cards are different product lines than the ultimate reqRds cards. I canceled my southwest card a couple years ago
About to get the wife another card. Way under 5/24. She has the CSR and CIP already. Any mind blowing offers right now or should I just tackle another chase card like the chase ink cash for a quick 50k?
Already have both of these w/0 balance for a while. Putting in a patio and I really don't feel like paying cash for it. Nerd wallet is telling me this citi simplicity is the way to go.
Close freedom and open it again if it has been two years. Or ask for a balance transfer with no apr. Really no need to open a shit card for no apr I'll even send ya a referral
A very interesting discussion on the dangers mentally from doing this. I disagree with much but get the concept. I've stopped trying to maximize daily spend because it's not worth it (if I just used CSR for everything I'd only lose out on less than $100 per year) but I still like bonus chasing
Quick question about the Citi AA cards - I got this same one in March 2015 & converted it to Double Cash in July 2016, so would I be good to go on being eligible for the sign up bonus again? Also, soon-to-be ex-wife got the Citi AA Executive in May 2017 or so & added me as an authorized user, so would that affect sign up bonus eligibility?
Just FYI for those doing the wife + your own separate cards for maximum bonus trick I got approved for CSR but it couldn't be activated, called them and they said it triggered a potentially fraudulent application because it was the same IP address as a "previous application" (aka my wife's). I played it cool and she activated the card, but others might appreciate this info (this is probably common sense to some of you)
I’ve run the math and have been doing the same thing. 1.5% vs 1% or whatever just doesn’t make a big enough difference to sweat. I keep up with the rotating 5% categories, and I use cashbackmonitor to maximize any online purchase with portals, but every other purchase is just either my CSR or the matching branded card.
i wont keep up with this outside of matching spend to bonuses in the short term then will migrate to same rotating 5% + CSR
If the coupons are worth $800 each yeah But many in that thread accurately describe this as an 80/20 thing where bonuses are 80% of the profit and 20% of the effort
*spends money he was going to anyways for 20% returns* *Cuts out 48 coupons over days to save $10 on grocery items they don't need*
we tend to ask people their level of commitment before giving advice. you see us giving plenty of advice itt that's not high-energy. suggesting basic cards for people who aren't that committed. it's not hard
Used your link and got: Thank you for your request. We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days. Thank you for choosing Chase Ink Business PreferredSM. What do I do now?
That's a pretty good memory on your part. I can't quite remember when I canceled it but I think I delayed cancelling till the AF was close to coming around. No reason not to keep it open for 11 months and 25ish days.
Just did a little research, looks like I got it in September canceled in June. Was maxed out on chase cards 5/24 and mad I couldn't get anymore for a while so no need to keep their card in my wallet while my window was shut. Yeah I was pouting what about it? Now Chase needs to give me $1,000 travel dollars.
I was able to book all flights and hotel for my honeymoon sans a pretty cheap Airbnb in Bali with my CSR points(wife and I both had one) and the Amex hilton card. Appreciate all the help ITT.
Call them. Find the Chase recon line chart that’s been posted and be prepared to answer a few questions.
Apply for The Platinum Card® with this link. We can both get rewarded if you're approved! http://refer.amex.us/NICHOBy5a7?xl=cp20 I'd be happy to take your referral, but you only get 60k points bonus right now. Periodically you can get targeted offers for 100k so may be worth it to wait for that.
I’m cancelling mine today. Didn’t really get a good retention offer. Spend $3000 in 3 months for 200$ credit. I’d rather hit a minimum spend on a new card.
I had the Barclaycard AAviator Red and fly out of Charlotte all the time (AA hub). That free checked bag and boarding in group 5 was awesome. Much more likely to get an overhead bin spot and you don't deal with the Group 6 Armageddon rush. Downgraded it in year 2 when the annual fee hit and sorely missed those two perks. Just signed up for the Citi AA and looking forward to the bonus miles and perks again.
