Low key with what little factual info you can get out of China, their economy feels like its about to collapse under dept and corporate bankruptcies. This shit might end in a war to distract the Chinese people
Or they could go nuclear and just sell off all of their US treasuries and use the cash to stimulate their economy.
And on the other hand you have a president who senile and in dimentia. He could do anything and say it was from that meeting and the only one who's going to know would be the interpreter. It's important to get their account on record.
I've read a lot about it but in summary the corporate debt is widespread noted. But whats worse is the municipality debt that's really the killer, belief is that pensions and even salaries will be hard to pay for as the municipalities are buried under debt. Combine this with the capitol controls its pretty obvious the Chinese banks and government are under stress to keep up the mirage https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarahs...vernment-debt-are-growing-again/#716d014decf5 Its 100% way worse than what they are "reporting"- that whole economy has been propped up on debt. We've seen this story many times in world history, I think we know how it ends
I don’t inherently disagree. But also think it’s a pretty terrible precedent to set. I’m just tying to imagine the republicans subpoenaing translators in the middle of obama negotiating the Iran deal. The position requires some flexibility and time to report what the agreements are. And if time goes on and Congress hasn’t been made aware of the agreements, then I think it might become appropriate.
Appreciate the info. I’m not much of an economics guy, only took micro. I assume debt at the municipal level is more problematic than at the national level? Is that just because of the more direct relation to the citizenry, or is there another reason it’s a more dangerous form of debt?
I think it’s more dangerous to set a precedent that the president can have secretive meetings with leaders of hostile nations.
Meetings with no advisors or stenographers? I’m sure they happen in times of improvisation, but purposefully planned?
Maybe not without advisors. That’s just foolish on his part. But secret meetings, sure. And meetings that are not immediately reported and briefed to congress? Sure. The president needs freedom to conduct foreign policy with minimal interference of congress. I understand these are unique times however
This tweet and its comments are peak political twitter. *reads article* "Oh its ONLY in school board elections ONLY in San Fran" *comments on tweet about inaccuracies* *MAGA response* "FIRST THE SCHOOL BOARD THEN THE MAYORAL RACE THEN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE" *Taco's thoughts* So immigrants voted illegally in the last election but are now taking the time to register to vote....for a school board election?
Yeah, the secret part isn’t the big issue in this instance. The precedent regarding Congress is an important part, but it would seem there’s a pretty easy guard rail there. “Oh, there’s a triangulated record that we’ll eventually learn about? All good. Wait, you sat down with a murderous dictator with only an interpreter? What. The. Fuck. Happened? Tell us right now.”
The recent treasonous debacle in Helsinki should underscore the fact that anyone still supporting Trump cannot truthfully say that they also support the troops. The two statements are simply incongruous. I don't want to hear or see nother damn word about it from them. You don't get that right when you willfully sell out your country to a foreign adversary.
Or that they care about the first amendment or Constitution with the President's blatant attacks against the free press.
My wording was wrong, I did not mean secret meetings in how they are planned or not reported on, but secretive in the fact that there was no one else in the room. The fact that we still do not know much about his meeting with KJU and now this meeting with Putin we are setting a dangerous precedent. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall these kind of one-on -one meetings ever happening before.
On the flip side how can you accuse Trump supporters of supporting treason when you supported a black president who tried to make health insurance available to the masses?
Local Republican chair found to have made a fake vet charity to enrich himself. Stand for the troops! http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...lson-sham-charity-lawsuit-20180719-story.html
There will be a record made. It will just be the highest classification possible and unFOIAble for decades
Real Clear has a new set of election polls within the last two weeks. Gravis has Nelson up 4 in Florida. Tester is up 3 in Montana. Bredesin remains up in Tennessee. The only polls in the last month with an R lead are Missouri, which would be a flip, and Romney/Utah and Cruz/Texas.
McCaskill has to hammer Hawley for trying to get rid of pre existing condition coverage. He gave her a gift with that and it might save her.
I have this never-Trumper friend who has an endless hard-on for Rick Scott (I know....) who keeps telling me that I better get used to Rick Scott being my senator. (and no, it's not your wedding DJ... different guy)
I’m glad my groomsman fucked with that guy’s laptop now (they got into it when he walked off stage and we didn’t want to hear a certain song so he took it upon himself). Rick Scott, to me, is a more obvious “never fucking vote for this guy” candidate than Trump. At least in 2016, DJT had managed to hide a bunch of shit. Rick Scott was out here refusing to expand Medicaid, losing jobs in healthcare across the state and making healthcare less affordable across the board. Plus he got away with the largest Medicare fraud in this country’s history from his time with HCA. And just because we needed some icing on the shitcake, he’s fucked with medical marijuana legislation relentlessly. You know all about this but the rest of this thread deserves the debrief. Amendment 2 was approved by 71% of Florida voters in 2016 (6.5 million yes votes compared to 4.6 million Trump votes). The court has ruled that it included a definition of “all types of medical marijuana” which Rick had the state appeal and is now shitting all over.
