What do you guys think of Ade and the impact he will make this season and next? Coached the kid at WLC and nice to see him climb into the 2 deep with Khalid and Daelin.
I think Ade is gonna be really good. He seems like that 3 star that actually evolves into a 5 after a couple watches.
have I bitched about how awful the offensive line was yet. And that with the few boned headed mistakes of wimbush and the drops and the missed holes by the backs and receivers that all amounts to nothing in comparison to the consistent awfulness of the offensive line. Really fuck the Quinn hire so fucking much. Really think the team would be way way better with Justin Frye at that job (or pretty much any hire legitimately made on merit)
Was thinking about this just yesterday. What makes it even worse is that Kelly just saved his job by getting rid of his buddy bvg and hiring outside...and he goes right back to his old strategy instead of getting the best candidate. Infuriating, same old mistakes. Sometimes shit can happen but nobody here wanted Quinn, this is not our job. How come we saw it coming? It can get better but I am not hopeful at all. Ol is a huge key to any team but especially Nd.
I think it's too early to pass judgment on Quinn as our OL coach.... but things don't look promising.
We're going from one of the best to a nobody, I'm going to give him time but so far Kelly's buddies haven't worked for shit.
I'm as pessimistic as they come, but this is where I'm at too. The fan base didn't like the Hiestand hire at first either. Let's see how the season unfolds.
True. But one can still have issues with the process, even when the result is not in. Easy example, ive always hated the mark ingram draft pick for the saints. This wasnt due to the perception of mark ingram himself. Just a view on the value of a between the tackles runner in the saints offense and the fit of his skillset in the offense. I fully think these arguments still hold and i think for the saints offense kamara is vastly more valuable than ingram. For many other teams ingram would however add more. The point being i think its really fair to find the hire of a guy who hasnt coached oline in decades suspect. Certainly with a coach who has a history of bad hires within his tree. That being said i hope that the hire will prove to be right for the wrong reasons. Thats still better than wrong for the right reasons.
Outside of last season and that one year we had two 1,000 yard rushers (the Jonas Gray year), all of our OLines under Kelly have performed average at best. And this despite having ample talent and depth. So unless this seasons is beyond shittastic, I don’t see this as an OL coach issue.
Exactly why I am so upset, I thought he turned a corner and was ready to built his team around the ol every year. The Quinn hire shows otherwise
Maybe so, but the kid who lit ND up last year and threw for about 3500 yards (not all against ND) is gone. Believe he's with the Jets.
Thank you my man, i was sure this little fucking asshole was coming back for the Nd game. Makes me feel better And I would give you a second like for the (not all against Nd) your next post will get it, even if you mock my mother
Considering bringing the whole family down for the game since it is going to be a glorious day. Anyone have an inside track on 4 tickets?
Possibly. But even if not, I don't think you'll have trouble getting 4 together. I'll text someone and I'll let you know
My person sold 2 of the 4 this afternoon so that's a no go. But vivid seats has 4 for $64/ea right above the student section https://www.vividseats.com/ncaaf/no...ts/notre-dame-vs-vanderbilt-9-15-2469070.html And as low as 49 in the South side of the stadium
Mrs. Heebs wants to stay home so it looks like three of us. Unless we wake up sick I think three of us are coming.
Somewhere near poll 14 at 9am for us. red Ideal flag will be flying. Chicken satay and steak yakitori if you're hungry.
We were in a weird spot. kind of in the middle of all that. hoping to be closer to 14 today but we are running a hair late. damn kid.
How do all these pleb teams get reliable college qbs (wake, ball st, vandy, etc.) but major programs like ND, LSU, and Mich have struggled for years at the position? I guess we do have a guy on the roster who would be that type of QB: Ian Book
ow c'mon, at least judge wimbush on games where they actually play wimbush to his strengths. Cant really blame him for the coaches forcing him in a role thats not his. Dont worry about wimbush, worry about the OLine for now. btw, weve had very solid QB play under BK, just no progression. Golson & Kizer were both good to very good at times
