I thought it turned out the extension was built into the original contract with ties to NCAA sanctions?
They can use whatever excuse they want to save face. You don’t give a rookie HC a 7 year guarantee contract. That’s one of the worst contract negotiations I have ever seen. Further proof that people in academia don’t know WTH they are talking about. A Law School Dean and his Legal team all agreed to that.
There's no has to be about it he definitely is. 2 completions for 8 yards and 5 INT is the worst game of all time
Wait - that was his final stat line? Holy shit that’s bad. Good thing I stopped giving a shit just after the 3rd game.
Sorry correction he had 2 completions for 8 yards and only 4 INT. Then Rescigno came in went 0/1 and had the 5th INT. That statline is practically trending on twitter for how much we're getting mocked nationally
Week after week I think we finally hit rock bottom and ash comes back with “Hold my beer”. I didn’t think it could get worse then losing to Kansas, then we get whooped by Buffalo at home, then we lose to Indiana with the sliver of hope only to get shit on by Illinois (woof) and now we have Maryland and that offensive shit show Somehow I feel like Ash will find a way to get intercepted and lose the bye week at this rate
I don’t see how we can keep him after this complete regression of a year. I’ve stopped watching the games and watch my 20th ranked RPI engineers kick ass in the D3 world
I wouldn’t put much stock into that , they really can’t even give a hint that they are waivering or it will blow up everywhere . I had lunch with Marco the year we fired flood and he was hyping it up like flood was the next best thing , trying to validate his recruiting classes and a few months later flood was gone Still I would be shocked if Ash is fired just because of the situation and people involved . One day we’ll have full shares and can do what we want to do but it’s just not here yet , so they say I’m probably not renewing Audi club tickets or my seats because it’s just not worth it. If ru wants to say no money for a new coach then many people like me are gonna say thanks but no thanks . We’ll be back later I guess
Hey, remember when Ash chose to stay with Ohio State for their non-playoff, non-championship game instead of getting started with the school who picked him to be head coach?
Gone from blazek being a good recruiter to not being able to retain a kid he basically convinced to take up football. I'd care more about losing him if his lines weren't dogshit
This is reason number 1 you can't keep ash. Even if he stays another year everyone knows he's a dead man walking so he won't be able to recruit and you're essentially guaranteeing his failure and wasting everyone's time.
Only at Rutgers could the difference between 1-11 and 2-10 be the determining factor in retaining the coach.
I will say if ash pulls a win again Michigan or penn state this season (I laughed even typing that) then I say that should go into the conversation
We are so desperate for something “positive” around RU football that nj.com actually wrote an article about a grown ass man wearing a helmet to the game ......sad times
I just looked at our future schedules and God is it going to be embarrassing to lose to Monmouth in 2020
Yea. Either Schiano will be here and his first recruiting class will prob be playing or Ash would have turned it around which means we have a good team
I can’t wait to start to see the “we almost beat Nw and they are beating Wisconsin so we should hold our own next week” arguments
We should've beaten NW, and they're right there with Wisky. If you can't see what Chris Ash is doing, I honestly feel bad for you.
