Color guy says he lives in S. Jersey, thinks Tverdov is from St. Joseph's and has called us "the Rutger" more than once.
After seeing the effort on defense the last couple weeks I don't see how you can argue that they didn't care/gave up earlier in the season
Welp it's been a nice run boys. Literally don't give a fuck what happens to Rutgers football any more. Don't care what they do next year. Following this program is not worth it.
Fuck you Hobbs. You made one of the worst hires in major college football history. Fucking imbecile. Will not step foot in Rutgers stadium until there is a new coach, whether that is 2020 or beyond and neither will any of my family.
So I think I am with Fudd on this one. Let’s look ahead to next season and tell me exactly what am I signing up for 8/31 UMass 9/7 Iowa 9/21 Boston College 9/28 Michigan 10/5 Maryland 10/12 Indiana 10/19 Minnesota 10/26 Liberty 11/2 Illinois 11/16 Ohio State 11/23 Michigan State 11/30 Penn State Being honest with ourselves, This season will end a 2-4 win season but be viewed as “progress” cause the bar is now set so low. And if Hobbs showed us anything it’s that he will give ash a chance as long as we have moral victories so let’s take a look at 2020.
2020 Football schedule 9/5 Monmouth 9/12 Syracuse 9/19 Temple 9/26 Ohio State 10/3 Illinois 10/10 Purdue 10/17 Indiana 10/24 Nebraska 10/31 Maryland 11/14 Michigan 11/21 Michigan State 11/28 Penn State Not looking any better and Syracuse and Temple are FAR from guaranteed (Just ask Penn State and Maryland how they did against temple).
So next years season tickets will be for UMass / BC / Maryland/ Minnesota/ Liberty/ Ohio State / Michigan state With nothing celebrating the 150 anniversary and homecoming most likely Liberty
I liked the part where ash is basically mad Hobbs said he expects improvement in his press conference because it'll make it hard to recruit..fucking loser mentality.
The RU/MSU game selling out this early in the season is a great indicator of the turnaround Pikell has going in the MBB program. I think within the next two years we're officially gonna become a BB school. It fits the personality/location of the school anyway, I would be fine with it. Just a shame that our administration has allowed the FB program to fall apart since GS left
Rutgers is playing great tonight but Thiam is a pretty terrible shooter for being known as... A shooter.
Kiss was really good at both ends after some rough games. Feel like how he plays will be the difference between a lot of wins or losses.
Some Rutgers guys made AAF rosters: Beauharnais Josh Hicks Paul James Darius Hamilton Myles Nash Some other names of interest: Anthony Sarao WILL "THE THRILL" HILL
This. Aside from Geo (or Gene) going off, we will need double digits from Kiss if we want to win against any mid to high end B1G team.
Holy cow, I completely forgot about Paul James. Kid was an absolute beast, but had some all time bad luck with injuries.
So we've got three legit players in Geo, Kiss and Eugene. Outside of those three, we struggle a decent amount. But we've got a team that in a year or two will likely make the tournament (imo). If that happens and Pike is here for the long run, we should be able to recruit at least one stud, high 4 star/5 star player a cycle from the NJ/NYC area. Our future is very bright in basketball
While I agree, we just completely blew the 2nd half. We missed way too many easy shots/wide open 3s that we hit in the 1st half
McConnell gave some solid minutes in the first half with Geo in foul trouble. He could be a decent bench player when he doesn't have to play the point anymore.
Baker, stud but needs some help I think Harper, if he works hard is a star. Mathis is quick but he needs to slow down at the same time if that makes sense. If he can slow himself down after those first couple steps and finish he will be good McConnell I’m not sure about. Solid yea. But can he improve like Baker did year over year? We will see Eugene for as much as he improved, needs to know his role. Don’t turn into a Freeman trying to do to much Thiam, how does a shooter play 24 minutes and take 3 FGs? Kiss, streaky. Also only seems to want to shoot with Baker on the court. Important for Baker to stay out of foul trouble so he can create the movement from the defense that makes Kiss comfortable Doorson, average Doucere, not going to write him off for the future but he is going to help us much this year.
I thought this was Mathis’ best game. He played pretty good D. He was the fastest guy on the court. I agree, needs to chill out. Doorson was worked beginning of the 2nd half :/ We took to many 3s and the refs did not help anything. That being said. I am excited about this team. Not tournament bound, but we could ruin some teams day
Mathis can be a lock down D. He is just quick. Great for Defense right now. Too quick for his own good on offense It’s natural, just a problem for us because we need him right now Really hope we can squeak into the NIT. A full season and some postseason play would be great experience for these kids
McConnell got some desperately needed confidence. He was so meek and timid up until last night. He's ready to play, unlike Mathis, he just needs to play with some cajones.
