Heading to NYC for a few days for New Years. The gf says I need a pair of warm shoes/boots that are comfortable enough to walk several miles in. Preferably something dressy as well. Any rec’s?
Looks like the sennheiser HD1s are still half off on amazon if you're interested in noise canceling.. says out of stock, but will ship when available. I spend way too many hours per week in a loud setting and noise canceling headphones have helped tons so I kopped these as a backup.. Can't give first hand report, but both pairs of my senn's have worked great
I say this seriously. if you want to spend $230 get one of the Ugg models, Sorel is also a great option but they tend to be heavier.
Did any of you make adjustments? I went with the rtings.com recs and they seem alright, just looking for some feedback
Looking for a new travel bag. One that will be considered carry on. Looking for the type you can put your hang clothes/suits in and fold up. Any recommendations?
Places like flyertalk have lengthy discussions on packing suits etc in a Red Oxx Air Boss in a way they aren’t wrinkled badly. I’ve never tried it, and just check a bag if i need a suit.
I fly a lot and found this folding case that fits inside a carry on. Fly with the bigger Away carryon and it works well. Probably the best carry on I’ve ever used.
haha i made this account when i was like 15 and balls deep in wrestling but thank you for your advice. that mean they aren't good looking shoes?
Need a thermos recommendation. Primarily will be used in outdoor activities for coffee. I will have to physically carry it most of the time so looking for something in the 20 oz range that isn't made of solid lead.
I purchased an 18 oz Yeti rambler and a 20 oz tumbler from Dicks today thanks to sitewide 25% off. Yeti has some douchey fanboys thanks to its hats but I’ll be damned if they don’t make great insulated products.
Giving the made-to-measure suit a try. $319 out the door: https://www.indochino.com/product/wembury-blue-suit
I have a suit and tux from here, very happy with the quality and look at the price point. Will order again from them.
Living in Atlanta, I have the luxury of visiting a showroom. I can’t imagine experience is nearly as confident when you’re selecting the materials from a low-resolution web pic. I’ll report back in a bit.
If I lived in Atlanta (and this is just me) I’d visit H. Stockton and get a MTM suit from Samuelsohn or the like. I probably will at some point though it’ll take two trips. It’s worth the trip just to see their Alden selection.
High but worth it if you are planning on staying the same weight. They’re more affordable than, say, Canali or other well known brands. They are more $$ than J. Crew or other department stores. They are in the Hart, Schaffner, Marx neighborhood on prices and are still made in Canada I think. Last I looked you could get a fully canvases wool suit for a little over a grand, but it’s been a while since i looked. Hawking for sales this time of year and understand that suit will last a long long time I’d say worth it. But I’m a buy once cry once guy who doesn’t mind being a little “off trend” when skinny lapels etc are back in style. I’ve lost so much weight all of my dress clothes just went to the donation box. I’m starting over and just discarded my backup plan of keeping my “fat” clothes around. I’m gonna try to slowly add a few pieces deliberately rather than trying to drop a huge sum on a whole month’s worth of clothes like I did last time. Staring at unworn pants that i paid for (plus alterations) in my home lighting they were just ugly...that was a learning experience.
