mama is struggling with me going back to wrok and a 23 month old and 4 week old. Officially looking for some part-time nanny help to get her head back above water. Adds so much stress on both of us, as she deals with it directly, and I get texts all day about how awful her day is going, kind of hard to focus on work, but damn glad I'm not at home...
Can't stand the sky is falling texts during work. There's nothing you can do and suggestions no matter how helpful usually piss them off even more.
Got a phone call at 8:00 this morning because she got one of his toys stuck in another toy and she’s so attached to both toys she doesn’t want to screw them up and oh my god what are we going to do!!! “Well I’m going to go back to doing my job, good luck with that.”
Continuously bitches we don’t go out to dinner like we used to. No shit, we have 3 kids under 19 months. Finally go out to dinner, spends 2/3 of dinner saying she feels so bad for her parents having to watch them.
Our 5 mo twins start daycare on Monday. They were almost 2 months premature, so wife is worrying about RSV risk since they’re 3 mos adjusted. Wish we had more time to spend all day with them.
Started planning my daughters first birthday. It’s gone as expected. She’s said no to every suggestion I’ve made. Said no to every venue I’ve suggested and just told me that she plans great events with others it’s only when she plan with me that things don’t go smooth.
Taking Roo to Children's hospital the er is afraid she is having seizures. So Shelby is riding with roo in the ambulance and I'm following by car when we get it arranged. She has had several times today she has been playing one .minute then suddenly her eyes and head droop then her breathing becomes shallow and her face today turned pale and her lips became blue and the only way she acknowledged me was when i gagged her to make sure nothing was in her throat
She had another episode at the ER while feeding, it lasted about 2 mins or so right when the Dr came in to check on her labored breathing. She then proceeded to try and chew on the Drs badge
Some how my 5 year old was introduced to the party rock anthem. Guess what song has been playing repeatedly on my tv for the last week.....
Update: She hasn't had an episode since midnight. She is getting an EEG and being seen by neurology within the hour.
About a month ago I posted saying she choked and we had to do the infant Heimlich well after talking with mom and the neurologist since the same symptoms with last night's episode were the same as the choking incident. We think that was actually her very first episode.
Still has the EEG, she took some long naps on Nana, and just eating and playing. I hate we are hoping she has an episode with the EEG and camera on her, but that is the best outcome sadly, the more data the better
Looking like she will have it on overnight which we are fine with especially since these seem to happen more at night. I'd be unable to sleep if they sent us home , so having her hooked up and a nurse checking on her every 4 hours really helps.
Good treatment for this and a lot of kids this young will still grow out of them. The ordeal must be incredibly stressful though. They talking about brain mri or anything?
Winter bedtimes are so great. It’s dark before 6pm so my kids are asleep at 7pm. Waking up is a different story. 6am comes early and entertaining children for hours before the sun comes up is for the birds. Edit: And by ‘entertaining’ I just mean watching tv.
I hate this social media age. Twins turned 4 months old last week and now my wife is “late posting their photo”. Oh the horror. Then proceeds to get frustrated that the twins aren’t taking the perfect photo to post on Facebook and instagram.
I convinced my wife to keep the kids off social media with the whole “we can’t make that decision for them” shtick (as far as their pictures being all over the internet). I don’t have any social media at all so I don’t know how well it’s worked. I do know she/we aren’t doing all the ridiculous photo shoots that all her other stepford friends seem to participate in. We have great regular organic everyday pictures that are far more valuable to me than the staged dress up shit she shows me from other families.
Okay so we are going home today the neurologist here said she doesn't think it's seizure related but they are sending out everything to another neurologist to have it looked at again and if they find anything they will give us a call and that will take up to a week or so
Just told us to follow up with our pediatrician, record anymore episodes, just wish we knew why she had the facial discoloration and her lips turning blue. They are very happy with her development.
This sounds like it but still scary as hell https://consumer.healthday.com/care...mes-normal-for-babies-doctors-say-710269.html
That's really crazy, can't imagine what you guys are going through watching that. Hopefully that is what it is, and it will resolve soon.
well in more positive news, got her to agree to accepting nanny help 2 days a week. She had a slightly tough time with sucking down her pride and 'not being able to handle it herself' but I said that needed to go, don't worry about your perceived expectation of what you think other people will think (follow that? ha). Will be able to spell her, get some rest, help with toddler, help me focus at work etc etc. Pricing really wasn't even that bad. They come Wednesday, praying that it's a perfect match for her and our toddler son.
Son has always struggled with naps. We've tried everything and he's super inconsistent. A month or two back though found this Mom's blog, had like 6 kids or something ridiculous and her main thing was feed them till they burst. Full baby = happy/tired baby was her thing. Well all week last week he was having shit naps. This weekend Saturday and Sunday he crushed his normal breakfast and I was adamant he eat more. Lo and behold long ass naps. Today: "30 minute nap day is ruined!" "Did you feed him more than his normal breakfast like we did this weekend?" "No I was too busy"
HAHA. Never understand when you finally find something that works and then they deviate from that. Guess that's why I handle Naps on the weekend and bedtime.
Well pediatrician sent out her EKG and chest xrays for a second opinion and well they said both were borderline. This should have been checked by Children's but oh well. Anyway they will make us an appt with the cardiologist hopefully by next week. It looked like on the xray that the left side of her heart appears to be bigger than the right side of her heart, so best case scenario it resolves itself and we have to do weekly/biweekly visits. Worst case scenario is it could be a clot and then surgery could be involved. She is in for a bunch of tests and several weeks of waiting for results, the pediatrician says especially the lips turning blue and the exhaustion could have been caused by little one's heart.
My wife is out of town for work this week. My 9 month old daughter has an ear infection and the medicine has given her a pretty bad diaper rash. Our pediatrician's nurse line recommended a bath with baking powder and then letting her "air dry" for a while instead of putting her diaper on immediately to help her butt feel better. Right before bed I went to grab her bottle and I hear my 4 year old yell that she just pooped. I'll spare you the photo but sure enough when I got upstairs there was a big spot of diarrhea on her carpet. FML.
Wife lets the 1 year old run around naked for a little after bath. Shit and pissed on the carpet for the first time the other week, thankfully I wasn't home. #blessed
F that! I get so grossed out if our daughter craps in the tub, the second she gets out she's wrapped up in a towel and dressed in her pajamas.
