Doesn’t matter what the cost on the cap. There is no way Pace can bring him back next season. The first FG or XP he missses next year will just set the city on fire again.

    He’s done.

Add kicker to position upgraded needed in the off-season.

    RB
    OL
    DB
    K
    WR

    Are all positions of need.

Yep Parkeys done, can’t bring him back. I’m fine with the Cohen/Howard 2 headed monster if we can get a legit kicker.

Long has to be restructured or cut unfortunately, I’m fine moving forward with McMannis over Callahan if it’s needed. Would like to see Amos back.

Yeah I hate to lose him, DC will be our biggest need in the offseason if we lose Vic

How much does he cost against the cap if he unexpectedly passes away? Asking for a friend

Obviously I don’t want him to die, psychos

But I wouldn’t cry if he did

As do I, but he’s got two interviews lined up. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the Broncos new HC next year.

It was only his first full game back but Long wasn’t good today. I agree he needs to take a pay cut or we can move on.

McMannis isn’t good. Callahan is ok. Don’t think it matters much if one of those two or a rookie fills that role next year given the DL pressure we produce. I know PFF had him ranked in the top 20 but Prince imho is someone I would love to upgrade

Think it’s like 5m cap hit. Doesn’t matter you got to eat it. Rather the address the spot before the season starts over bringing him back. He missed a kick or two and now your on the waiver wire picking up scraps to kick. Given that or offense isn’t going to the be the Saints you need a rock solid kicker next year.

Yeah they are in good shape. They have some cap money and they bring back a ton of the roster. They are limited with picks because of the Trade for Mack and Mitch. I think they should still be able to land a OL, DB and RB out of this class.

What a shame to go out like this. I'm optimistic but this was anyone's year. We had just as good a shot. You can't count on good health next year, other teams improving as well, etc... Can't make this shit up.

We didn’t have a great run of injuries this year. Especially down the stretch

We didn't really lose key players for extended periods of time. Long comes to mind, but he probably won't be on the team next year anyway. He didn't look great.

Besides last week when we lost all our receivers we've been doing okay. Mitch being out those two games was most impactful. Philly losing QB for rest of season is kind of stuff I mean.

Mitch played well, one more year under Nagy I'm hoping takes him to next level.

Watched the Parkey post game. I'm not sure how to feel. He seemed genuinely remorseful and ashamed. But he also said he felt like he kicked a good ball... That shit looked terrible the moment it left his foot. I know kickers must have short memories as part of their job but wasn't a good look. I think his cap hit goes down to 3M after June 1st so he's probably gone then.

It absolutely was not tipped. I just went back and watched it from several angles. Nothing indicates a change in ball flight and it easily had the distance from 43. How many tipped kicks have you seen easily have the distance from 43?

You can very clearly see the tip here, unless you think he flexed all of his fingers backwards in sync with the exact moment the ball crossed his hand

You're right. Definitely looks like it. Changed my mind a bit. Still on Parkey for the angle, it wasn't a 60 yarder or anything but explains why it hooked so much and spun sideways. Here's another look.

    So ...

Still a hell of a year. Team is trending up, but the NFL is so variable and the schedule gets tougher next year the front office has to go into the offseason hell bent on improving.

Need new talent in the secondary, OL and another WR that can contribute.

Turned the TV off after the miss and almost immediately went to bed. I sent about a dozen texts in that 4th quarter saying he was going to miss a game winner. Was that 6 uprights total on the year?

A few things not related to Cody Parkey from last night....

Nagy has to be more dedicated to the run game. Giving Howard and Cohen a combined 13 carries in a playoff game is unacceptable, especially in a defensive showdown.

Mitch has to be better at sitting in the poctect and going through progressions. I think they alluded to it in the game but Mitch’s completion % is god awful if he has to go off of his 1st or 2nd read.

I know Parkey sucks but only scoring 15 at home against a terrible pass defense isn’t going to cut it.

For the first time all year I thought Nagy was tight throughout the first half. The game plan was pretty milquetoast to start. Remember how we used to start the each game with impeccable and innovative scripted plays? We didn't start seeing him loosen up until the second half. We still should have won, but it certainly wasn't a "be you" performance at the beginning. I'm sure he'll learn from it.

I don't get giving Benny Cunningham and Mizell carries. Also how many QB's are getting to their 3rd and 4th reads with regularity? I'd be fine if he just improved hitting those first two options better. He had Miller for that TD at the end of the game and over threw him.

I'm ok with that particular overthrow. The last thing you want there is a 50/50 ball when any competent kicker can win the game for you. Erring on the side of overthrow is preferred there IMO.

I also agree with you. That stat about the drop after his first couple reads is hard to judge without context.

Right I wasn't mad, but the throw was there. If he leads him toward the goal post its an easy TD. Its a tough throw for him because he knows the one thing he cant do is leave it short and have it picked off or have Miller catch it at the 5 and get tackled. I hate all of this revisionist history because if our dumbass kicker hits a chip shot we're talking about how Trubisky just came of age and the Rams are in trouble.

I don’t think he trusted Mitch in the first half. But when he did open things up because he had to, Mitch was solid. Hope this helps us in the future.

I think Biggs’ article said we’d owe Parkey $3.5 million if we cut him. I’m willing to bet this guy would take a smaller paycheck for year 1 of a contract to help alleviate that.

"My history of my body, that's what it does. It locks up when it feels any threat. That's kind of what happened to me."

Burton said he had a lower back issue once with the Eagles and that his body seems to lock up.

"Over time, if you look at the history of my injuries, whenever it feels like it’s threatened or something could possibly happen that’s serious, my body locks up," Burton said. "And that’s what happened to me my whole career.

"Just from my body protecting itself," Burton said. "Some stuff like that."

The issue sounded almost like an anxiety issue, but he said it wasn't.

“I don’t think so," Burton said. "I was in a really good spot mentally going into this game. I was extremely excited to play my former team. And obviously a playoff game as well. I was really looking forward to competing with those guys that I played with for four years."
