I went through a phase where I was really into reading biographies and the one I read on Gates was great. He is like the ultimate nerd god. When he was at Harvard, apparently the first thing he would ask a girl after meeting her was what she scored on the SAT.
I went through a similar phase. Really enjoyed the Rockefeller bio by Chernow (Titan). You remember the name of the Gates book/have any other good bio recs?
Hard Drive is the Gates one. It's been like 10 years or so but I remember it being like half about him, half about Microsoft. The Robert Caro ones about Lyndon Johnson are great if you feel like reading 3000 pages about Lyndon Johnson.
If he saw you somewhere and wanted to begin a sexual relationship with you in exchange for access to an ultra luxurious lifestyle, would you go for it?
he was already fairly wealthy when he married her, right? assuming he had a prenup then, I wonder how it holds up now that his wealthy has grown exponentially.
I’m sure he does have a pretty detailed prenup, but this split sounds like she’ll still have access to the wealth whether it’s hers or Jeff’s.
Did you read the Warren Buffett one? Snowball? Just finished that one. Not 3,000 pages but pretty long. Really good. It reads like Forrest Gump the way he’s involved with so many famous characters and major American events. Totally reading the Rockefeller fella one next.
That's a man that wealth has not changed. Worth 80-some billion dollars, still buys his hoodies from the $9.97 rack at Walmart. Admirable.
Michael Craig mentioned in one of his books that Gates comes to Vegas every once in a while to play poker, but always sits down at the 1-2 limit tables.
