Wraith, pathfinder and blood hound. The only squad win I’ve had is when our last guy was using Bangalore and able to hide in the smoke to heal and sneak around to knock out the other squad. It was pretty impressive to watch.
They did some really nice things that other BR's should steal ASAP. That's one of them. Launching as a group with a "jumpmaster" by default is also solid. Pinging is great (not sure if that's in other BR's but definitely not in Blackout and I think would help a lot). Transferring attachments from one gun to another is a single button press. I could be wrong on this but I think if you pick up a bunch of attachments before you have a gun that can use them, as soon as you do pick up a gun that can use them they auto-attach.
yes i do love that you can mark gear. no longer, "hey blue armor on me" "where are you??" just tag it so your team can see where it's at.
Not just that but enemy locations and stuff. Obviously there's the compass at the top but that can be confusing at times if everyone isn't right on top of each other. So much easier to just say "people over here" and double tap RB/R1 and everyone looks right there immediately instead of having to look at the compass for a direction or coordinates you gave. This is probably a bigger issue if you're playing with bad players and, unfortunately, a couple of my friends I regularly play Blackout with are bad so this would make things so much easier. Yeah, it's one direction on one of the thumbsticks then another direction on the D-pad. And the stuff you mark can only be seen as marked from like 10-15 meters away. The pinging I'm happiest about in Apex Legends is for enemy locations though. Nothing for that in Blackout.
Just some random thoughts: Why do randoms who pick lifeline refuse to ult and take ult accelerators? I wonder how long cross play will take I'd be interested to see 25 4-man teams
my buddy is really good at BR's, but his callout game is awful. "enemies on me" uhhhh from where? right on you? in the distance? left, right? like come on man!
"on me on me on me" "there's dudes...at the thing!" not naming any names of course my approach is to not say a word which is worse
New strategy: Play as Mirage and wreck shop when with friends who are competent Play as Lifeline and Gibrater when playing with randos who I constantly have to revive
The randoms we had last night were not so great. One guy was Bangalore, and found the nearest building to hide in any time we had action. He would shoot his smoke and just sit there. I dont even know if he ever picked up weapons, honestly. Just crippled with fear
Some guy that I was just in a squad with had emblems for all of his slots in the pregame menu. It didn’t have his kills as a number but as an emblem and the other 2 slots were different emblems.
I think I've got emblems for like 3-4 guys now? Its not that difficult although I have been playing a lot. Got 5 wins today playing with GBG_24 and Space
They are similar to medals in Battlefield. "Win 1 game", "Get 4 downs in 30 seconds", "Kill an Enemy from 300 meters or more", "Win a Game Where Your Entire Team is Alive", "Get 15 kills in one game" Some of them have "prestiges" and the emblem evolves (looks cooler) like "Win 1/5/10/25/50 Games"
I really tried to like Battlefield but it was a pass for me. Not trying to derail the thread just saying. I get that it was the original big player games but it lacked the fun aspect what all the others have thrived on. I guess actual wars tend to be a wet blanket at times.

i'm not a huge fan of having to play as a 3 man squad. random's are so painful. i'll probably never play it solo, usually with at least 1 buddy. but we had a game where i got knocked a couple times and our healer wouldnt do anything. after getting revived he wouldnt even use his special to heal me. then we both got knocked with the storm coming, and he stayed in his little house looking at the walls and took so long he died in the storm. freaking rando's, man.
TrustyPatches told me last night that they datamined it already and there are duos and solos in the game. No clue where he got his info, he could be a dirty liar
the big tank is the goat get to a high point and use your ultimate to mop up during the last few circles. being in communication with your squad is absolutely imperative though, it's hard as shit to get anything done when you're just playing a pub match with randos who don't talk
This is probably the best I’ve been at a BR. I’ve had double digit 10 kill games now and a good bit of dubs. I probably have an advantage from playing a good bit of overwatch so I’m familiar with a class based shooter. Once people learn how to use their abilities more effectively it will be harder though. The longbow is awesome and so is the peacekeeper. I’m usually using one of those in combination with a carbine or spitfire. Sometimes a flatline.
used the energy sniper last night, really liked it. gotta work on remember the names of the guns i like best.
I’m that guy. I never talk when playing with random people but if they’re talking and saying stuff I’ll do it if that makes sense. If someone is down or has a plan or something I always go along with it. I like how you can share items and use the navigation to say “let’s go over here”

Fucking internet or something sucks, can't get into matchmaking right now. I decided I would try playing this as my first FPS on the PC. Not sold, my fingers are awkward when not on a controller. Further, my headset is missing some adapter to let me use sound and mic capabilities at the same time, so I'm happy for the pinging and communication system.
