It was a student worker. There's zero chance the kid was doing anything of any importance and there are a million ways to deal with it before firing the kid. When did you become the self-appointed thread arbiter? Sidebars/tangents are the lynchpin of this site.

According to my GF, this dude has been making YouTube videos for years, but like 7-8+ years ago he would make videos and say some "shock value" things. I think he had some stuff dug up where he said some racist stuff too. So I think at some point he made a video (not sure when) where he said he was going to fuck his cat or something and people ran with it. Then he made like 10 tweets saying he did not fuck his cat or cum on his cat.
A) The guy with the beard is the Jordan of his sport and B) I cannot believe the size of the crowd there just to watch two grown men bitch slap one another.
Sure, there were probably other options but firing him for drinking on the job and posting on social media is not some unthinkable reaction to the situation. I feel like most jobs would fire someone for the same offense, the fact that he is a student worker doesn't/shouldn't mean anything in the situation.
