Cobb for 5 mil is damn good in my opinion. I am just confused as to why the Cowboys resigned Tavon. If we can reel in Quinn and Berry then I will be pleasantly surprised and very happy considering most of this free agency has been complete shit.
Current asking price from Miami for Quinn is reportedly a 2020 4th rounder. That seems like a no brainer. The hang up must what they pay Quinn
Also Cobb’s big year was the season after Quinn’s and Quinn has missed over a full season’s worth of games since then just like Cobb
Yeah quinns last like 4 years have been hindered seriously by injuries. Dude has had back issues, concussions and a seizure and that's only the stuff I remember
If I remember correctly. I don’t think he was quite 18 when he showed up on campus at uk. Also he left after his jr yr. I could be wrong though
meh i’m still more excited about quinn than cobb. i look through cobb’s history and i see a ton of ankle injuries and hamstring/groin pulls, plus a major leg break. that’s a little concerning
negative, although at this point we are considered the leaders to land him. No other team has given him a significant offer and he hasnt visited any other team. Dolphins seem cool with the 2020 pick offer. I am assuming the cowboys are waiting him out because he doesnt WANT a 1 year deal but thats what hes gonna get from dallas
I didn't say he can't. But he's been a predominantly free safety his entire career. He's got something like 4000 snaps as a deep safety and 1200 in the box/slot/los combined
Woo another underwhelming signing. We don’t mind spending 15 mil on 4-5 not good signings but God forbid we offer 13 mil to one of the best safeties on the planet.
disagree. while it’s shitty we didn’t get an earl thomas or eric berry, iloka imporoves the safety position definitely
wish we would have traded him before free agency. signed earl, and traded for quinn. then we'd have earl, quinn, and a first rounder added to the team. This team is continuing to botch off season.
They had a couple options and chose the worst of all of them. If you KNOW you want to keep Tank (and that he needs surgery) you get this deal done months ago so that he can get right and you know your budget for free agency. If you dont know you want tank, you trade him before free agency and do exactly as you described. Instead we have done nothing in free agency of note while also pushing his surgery back forever so that even if this deal DOES get done at the 11th hour, he will probably miss AT MINIMUM all of training camp and probably some games. Insane
Yeah they ran that risk by telling him "prove to us that wasnt a fluke and youll get paid more." And he did it. Unfortunately he wants somewhere between Von Miller and Mack and his production even before you factor in his leadership on the defense says thats not unreasonable. Given how the team has navigated finances lately though, I have a feeling they wont pay him. Meanwhile we will end up giving Dak 30 million+ It was reported yesterday that the team floated Dak's agent 28 mil per and it was "considered insulting." Fml
Honestly, I'd let dak walk too. Von and Mack are 3-4 OLBs, those guys get paid on a different scale imo.
Agreed. They’re more versatile and honestly get more production as a result. Let them both walk, but we won’t.
I dont disagree I am just saying Tank is definitely in there with his agent showing that he has more TFLs and sacks and disruptive plays over the last 2 seasons than Mack or Miller and wants to be paid like it. I am not saying he deserves that but its definitely understandable why they are pushing for that money. Dak is for sure gonna get paid like a top 3 QB and I am going to curse that day for the next decade
will be beyond pissed if we pay dak but not tank. it’s exactly what i expect but will still be pissed
Alright boys, looks like we got us a RDE. One year deal for Quinn. I would assume if they were trying to use him as the D Law replacement they would have signed him longer than that. If they somehow pull off having both...i like that quite a bit
I wish we'd take a look at some of these AAF guys as tryout guys. Charles Johnson, Nick Truesdell, Rashad Ross, Casey Sayles, Mike Purcell, Derron Smith, Jayrone Elliott. Maybe even kick the tires on Damontre Moore again.
"impasse" between Cowboys and Demarcus Lawrence reportedly gone. Two sides talking and getting close to a long-term deal
same thus far, DC.com says "an average of 21mpy" is the closest to an exact I can find atm... glad they're getting this done.
