My comment was character driven and not show driven. After thinking on this a little more, I could see Arya killing her as she would give zero fucks about the baby. Taking what Nelson has said below into account, I believe Jamie will kill Cersei if she’s not actually pregnant. Had not considered this.
Cersei is going to claim the baby is Euron’s since she’s trying to have Jamie killed anyways so once that happens and Jaime finds out she tried to have Bron kill him and Tyrion I don’t think he will have any problems with finally putting an end to her.
Thankfully, the past few seasons have spent less time on the journeys in deference to the actual destinations. I think the pacing has been set for the past two years and I am used to it by now and have no issues. The journeys in the beginning probably had more to do with the character development in the books. Since books were removed from the equation and we know the characters already, there has been less reason to focus on how it all comes together and they just get right to the sex without foreplay.
Right and all I’m saying is that I’d prefer ten episode final seasons so we can have both, but HBO couldn’t stomach the bill given the epic battles and dragon CGI

Because there is next week. I think we get more of it next week. It seems they went out of their way to try to mirror the pilot in this episode and that structure seemed to be the guiding principle for how this episode would play out. It's not as if this is the last we will see of his reaction or how it impacts the show.

Is it? I can see B&W putting SmallJon in the middle of the spiral symbol because it looks freaky, was scary when SmallJon shrieked, and looked cool on fire, nothing more. Maybe they will explore it, but I just don't think the show will go beyond more than making them being "evil ice zombies and their ice zombie overlords." The books may eventually mention more about them (they've got, what, like five pages total in the books thus far?) but the show? I dunno

It’s too prominent throughout several episodes and seasons. Last night’s use was a reminder to the viewers (“hey guys remember this creepy thing for years ago? We’re going to deal with it this season”), just like literally everything else in a clear table-setting episode. Show also could’ve easily skipped the Children of the Forest/NK creation if they thought it was “book fodder.” They’re definitely going to color it in.

Thought last night's episode was alright. I was hoping Jon riding Rhaegal would be more of a moment. It was almost like he shrugged his shoulders and said "fuck it, I guess I'm riding a dragon today".
It’s all going to be explained. It’s the main story of the entire series. The motivation may be as simple as he was created by the children of the forest to be a weapon against man and that’s exactly what he’s doing, sort of like a Terminator. He just happened to take out the children as well out of revenge for turning him into an ice monster.
I love the show. But they’ve really struggled making Tyrion say anything clever post-GRRM. His conversation with Varys in the wagon at the start was fucking painful.
Follow-up...I really hope I’m not going down a classic biased personal theory rabbit hole because the more I work this over in my mind, I both love it and think it would be classic GoT/ASOIAF Spoiler Not only does Jon learn that some lies are worth it for the greater good, he follows Ned’s lead and keeps the ultimate lie to himself: his lineage. For the good of the realm (his alliance with Dany cannot endure if people find out he’s king and she’s the usurper, nor would she take it well) he tiptoes around her worst impulses all the while never revealing his identity until perhaps the final episode or perhaps never...Sam scribbles down the truth and locks it away in some tome to be discovered centuries later...Jon takes his parentage to his grave as a sacrifice, even though he spent his whole life wanting to know the truth. He leaves the North to Sansa, the Kingdoms to Dany, discards titles, perhaps even becomes lord commander again. All as a direct affront to the heraldic and monarchical bullshit that got them in this mess. “It’s what Ned would do.” Edit: Also mirrors lessons he learned from his great-great uncle Maester Aemon Second edit: Lyanna Mormont may have foreshadowed this by talking shit about how easily Jon bent the knee. “What are you, exactly?” The world is obsessed with titles, and Jon isn’t, which is what makes him the hero of the story.
I'm thrown by Dany not being thrown at Jon's ability to ride Rhaegal. Maybe I'm off, but I thought it was known that only Targaryen's can touch/ride/safely interact with dragons, and she didn't seem to think anything of the fact that he hopped right on
the arya-jon reunion was super bittersweet with arya basically sizing jon up. "how did you sneak up on me?" "how did you survive a knife through the heart?" (in other words, "how do i kill you?") they compared weapons they talked about how they're fighting for different reasons; one for family, one for the entire country; arya: "don't forget it" shoutout dragonflyjonez

I imagine Meera Reed shows back up in the series finale to get with Bran. He tries to do his all 3 eyed raven bs on her and she just slaps the taste out his mouth. Scaring him into saying he’s Brandon Stark because hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn. Boom they marry and house Stark continues.
