I've had this happen a lot. Street next to us has the same number as ours so things get mixed up frequently because reading the street sign nearby is apparently too fucking hard. It's great.
My side of the street every address ends in 5 and it is mind blowing how awful people are at getting the right house. We're probably in the double digits of packages that have been delivered to a different house, we've gotten 3 food orders that weren't ours, we had a delivery truck show up with a bed and a couch that wasn't ours, it's ridiculous. And this is all in 3 years. The lawncare guy was like "I'm sorry, it won't happen again" and I was like hey man don't let the wrong address stop you, I'm not gonna complain about free lawn treatments.
So I have a 2. The 3 upgrades are 5Ghz capability (the Rachio functions just fine on 2.4 imo), “hyper local weather” (supposed to be more accurate weather forecasting, meh) and finally capability of working with the rachio flow meter (cool device you need to install that can detect sprinkler leaks). Not enough there for me to upgrade at the moment and if I was looking at buying one I’d still go with the 2 given the price difference. In general, I love the rachio, one of my best smart home upgrades.
browsing through the inspection pics. anyone know what this is? maybe a rain sensor for the sprinklers?
Ahhhh yea, that definitely looks like a Rain Sensor for a Sprinkler system. Let me know if you have any other questions about it.
Worst. Job. In. The. World. I had a random landscaper drive by and ask if I wanted my trees cut back. I said no...but how much would you take for cleaning the gutters? Him: "Hmmm...I'll do it for $45." Me: "I'll give you a hundred." Guy now knocks on my door every six months.
It has Cork inside of it. Depending on the setting 1/8th of rain to 1 inch of rain. The cork swells depending on the rain amount and will trigger the system to turn off if its raining and the sprinklers are on. ONce the switch has been flipped there is another setting that determines how long until your sprinkler system can turn on. Sometimes when its raining ill turn my system on to see if it works.
I have the gutter attachment for my Stihl. It's not a clean job but it's better than getting on a ladder.
To me the worst part isn't getting the debris out of the gutters, and this is coming from a guy that does not like heights. To me the worst part is then cleaning up all the (often wet) dirty shit off the ground/deck/walkways.
On a side note; when you test your sprinkler zone and hear water hitting your soffit like a firehose, you quickly realize you will have an opportunity to dig up a sprinkler head tomorrow.
Strong work. Now take the next step and enable the Rachio skill on Alexa. "Alexa, water zone 2 for 10 minutes".
Just purchased a new home in SD and the prior owner left his Ring device mounted outside the front door. Said I could have it but wasn’t sure how to get it decoupled from his Ring app so that I could use it. Anyone run into this issue? Is there a way for me to take over control of that Ring device (e.g. can he transfer it to me somehow)?
I know nothing about them but most items like that have a hard reset button somewhere on them that will wipe the connections.
Nothing major, but seeing how this turned out after finishing the fireplace white wash and laying down carpet has made me about 1.7% less anxious about moving in this weekend. Before/after
tigr2ndbase Following up on this, it took me all of 5 minutes to cut and install and it is exactly the look we were going for. Would highly recommend and I can send you the exact link to this product if you want.
Bought a house for the first time a few weeks ago so apologies if this has been answered previously. Anyone have shed recommendations? Wood vs plastic? Also, where should I purchase from?
Finally finished my master bath remodel. I started the day after Thanksgiving, did every bit of the work myself on nights and weekends, and moved back in today. It took slightly longer than expected because work got busy, but I’m overall very happy with the finished product. Photo dump in spoilers, I’m really bad about taking in-progress pictures. Spoiler: Before Spoiler: During Spoiler: After You can sort of see it, but there is a color changing LED light strip under the shower bench. There is an identical one under the toe plate of the vanity. The floors are also heated. The shower is WiFi enabled and can be controlled with Alexa. The only items remaining are: 1) glass on top of the shower half wall (installed this week) 2) switching out the light switches to new switches that I can control from my phone
I've got a plastic shed from Home Depot. I like it, serves its purpose. Wood looks better but needs a little upkeep. Biggest thing regardless of wood or plastic is make sure the foundation it's on is level.
Very nice I regret that we did 2” tile floor in our shower with a light grout. So hard to upkeep. Did you do th3 stone floor in the shower yourself? Was it hard?
On the topic earlier in the week, I currently have people doing a spring cleaning on my yard. I was outside grilling when all of a sudden two guys walk through picking up sticks. I’ve hired them other years so I had to look up if I did it and forgot. I don’t see any email about it. When one came back with a blower I asked if they are at the right house but he didn’t speak any English other than “I don’t understand.”
Yep, not hard at all. They come in pre-arranged sheets that you cut to fit just like other tiles. Only problem is I ran out in one corner so I had to steal the stones from all my cut pieces and arrange them. Wasn’t too much of a headache, but I recommend getting one more box of tiles than you think you need.
Looks good. Have you gone outside at night with the light to see how translucent it is? My big concern is still being able to see in at night and not provide much privacy. Send me the link pleas.
Cabinets went in. Have a meeting on Monday with the builder to go over a few small things but otherwise it’s been a smooth process.
U by Moen For product info: Controller -https://www.moen.com/products/U_by_...ge_2outlet_digital_shower_controller/TS3302TB Valve - https://www.moen.com/products/U_by_...utlet_thermostatic_digital_shower_valve/S3102 They make a 4-outlet variant that is obviously more expensive but I did not need that many outlets. And never pay MSRP, I got mine here: Controller - https://m.ferguson.com/product/moen...erra-beige-mts3302tb/_/R-7253557?qll=pdp_ec_1 Valve - https://m.ferguson.com/product/moen...-digital-shower-controller-ms3102/_/R-7253564
Installed it today so haven’t had a chance. Will do later tonight. Here is the link: https://www.decorativefilm.com/ They do samples, FYI. This is the one we installed and doesn’t seem to be near as transparent as this image shows (obviously my window is small so the scale matters). https://www.decorativefilm.com/solyx-sx-1004-clear-ripple-glass
I’m dumb, it was actually an ash tree and it was already dying due to the emerald ash borer infestation.
Can someone tell me what this part dripping is for? I’m going to call the sprinkler guy out soon and hopefully he fixes it for free, but since I have no clue, I’d prefer to know before he comes. Google wasn’t helpful.
