Binged all the way through last night and this morning. If you don't want spoilers, stop reading here. - Outside of Danny Rand and Madamme Gao, I'm not sure there's a character in a Marvel Netflix show that annoys me as much as Trish. I just hated everything about her character and story - I didn't have a huge issue with Jessica killing the guard, but her going immediately to being a professional cleaner to make it look like something else is a really odd thing for a hero to do. And within one day it was like no big deal. Just felt weird. - That said, Killgrave in ep11 was amazing. All the little jabs about being a killer were my favorite part of the season. - I get what they were going for with the mom, but at no point did I care about her survival or want Jessica and her to get away in the finale. Maybe I'm just a heartless robot, but I just never wanted her to be anywhere but jail or dead - The Jeri story ended up being a lot more interesting than I originally thought - It's weird to me that there was no mention of the Defenders at all (unless I missed something) The show was okay. I liked it more than that probably sounds. It got better as the season progressed and was at least interesting. It just didn't connect all the pieces it was trying to fit together, IMO.
Just finished it today and pretty much I had the same feelings. I think the bar was set so high with season one and kilgrave that this season was going to be a let down. I was meh on the entire mom thing and trish is an idiot. Could be interesting to see where they take it with Jessica and trish based off that last scene.
Really enjoyed the first season. Just felt like season 2 was some of the worst acting I have ever seen. Still watched through the end so it was bearable, but some scenes were just horrid.
Both seasons of Daredevil were good 1st half of S1 of Luke Cage was good The Defenders and Iron Fist were meh
I liked the 2nd half of Luke Cage more than others. The acting definitely became over the top and cartoony in later episodes, though. Everything about Iron Fist was bad.
My rankings: DD S1 JJ S1 DD2 Punisher Luke cage Defenders JJ S2 . . . . Iron fist...acting just killed it for me. I know they were going for a childish grown boy Danny but I just couldn’t take it.
on the eleventh episode. i was ok with trish through the first 8-9 episodes because she's an addict and that's clearly driving her poor decision making. but even without the combat enhancement drug she's still doing dumb stuff and it's getting pretty annoying. this season desperately needs a villain though. the whole thing just feels unfocused
Im on season 1 episode 11. Why is everyone on this show so fucking dumb? Like I get they are trying to make a season out of it to extend it but the last 3-4 episodes were just mind numbing stupidity. Like I'm supposes to believe a support group full of nobodies and a psycho hippy girl decides to charge superpowered Jessica Jones' apartment and knock her out and free killgrave? What shitatistic writing.
Yeah Trish was awful in the second series. First season was one of my favorites after punisher and DD1 but this season was easily as bad as the defenders. Just terrible.
Is it possible this takes place before Defenders? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just finish. Pretty slow season. Almost gave up a few times. I just didnt care all the much about anyone besides Jessica, so anythign that happened to them didnt have much of an impact.
Just started watching this, because they filmed an episode at my friends house this past weekend. So far seems solid.
Good at least they will still release season 3 of JJ we all knew this was coming after the others got cancelled earlier
4th episode is filmed at my friends house. Haven’t watched it yet, but saw a scene that took place in his backyard.
Nothing yet. Pretty sure they’re going to ignore it. Or just say the Netflix shows take place in a different universe where it doesn’t happen.
This thread is not making me want to watch this season. I can't imagine anyone seeing season 2 and thinking "what they really need is more Trish".
I'm 4 episodes in. It's not bad, but I'm finding it hard to summon the fucks to give about all these side characters who are taking up so much of the story. I've always hated Trish (although this might be the most interesting version of her so far). I'm sure the Jeri and Malcolm stories will tie in with the main plot at some point, but right now I'm having to fight the urge to just skip over them.
I pushed through the rest of it the last two days. It definitely got better as the season progressed. Definitely better than season 2, as well. I wasn't really a fan of what they did with the Malcolm character. The stuff he did was fine. The way his character explained some of his actions in the end was stupid, as was Erik getting the headache for because he's a bad guy. Outside of Jessica, he's probably the only good person on the show, and the way they portrayed it was like he was the bad guy in his relationship and doing his job.
I'm making my way through the first season. I thought it was great until Spoiler she moves into her childhood home with a serial killer. Show started to really lose me there. And then having him trapped in a sealed room and shocking him -that was pretty bad writing too.
