Bought a couple of those 4.99 basketball boxes at Target. Got a 1972 Elvin Hayes card, a Penny Hardaway rookie, and a Gary Payton rookie, and a few other nice cards, including like 4 Jersey mem cards.

Also bought a couple of those target 12.99 boxes of packs. They include a 17-18 hoops fat pack and some 16-17 panini threads packs, and some of those cheaper panini complete packs. Got a Jamal Murray and Ben Simmons rookie "wood" cards. The Simmons looks like it's going for around $30. Pretty awesome

The Glove was awesome. He talked shit non-stop, on and off the court. He'd walk out of Key Arena and trash talk us autograph hounds as he signed for every single one of us. Ricky Pierce talked a lot of shit too.

Here's a poor photo of a few of the nicer cards. I was surprised to see that Elvin Hayes card in that cheap box

All I can think of is how many boxes he opened in order to pull eight 1/1's in the same day. That's the life.

I'll get pics up over the holiday, I have to fill out a few returns tonight for more trimmed cards. Plus I have to get organized with tracking numbers to go into the PO tomorrow morning and start decapitating motherfuckers. I'm missing over a dozen packages that show delivered. These idiots scan the fucking package as delivered before realizing my PO box is full (I buy a lot of shit, not just cards), then they just leave it somewhere in back and when I come to pick everything up (3-4 times a week) they can't find them or they find one or two and assume that's it. I'll even tell them there should be over a dozen packages in back and they come out with a couple boxes and a herp derp.

Giving them more money isn't going to stop the stupidity. According to the counter people the main mail sorter in back causes them all sorts of problems. I get oversized packages in the mail regularly and he'll completely forget to place the counter pick up slip in my box, full or not.

I'm having a tough time keeping track of everything coming in each week. Updating the lists, sorting the emailed receipts, leaving feedback for sellers, tracking down missing packages from the post office, etc. I know I'm not going to get any sympathy but don't be surprised if I end up cutting the photo process out, it would be much easier to catalog the cards upon arrival and immediately file into boxes/sets.

Just learned on the BO forums Topps Allen & Ginter product has a bunch of non-baseball autographs in it each year. Apparently the 2019 checklist hasn't been released but I'll be interested in seeing who's in it. Also gonna check all the previous years here shortly to see if there's any sets worth building or individual auto's I want to track down. Any of you guys have any of these?

Gonna post my checklist here so I can reference it as I go.

Bill James (this one intrigues me)
Tony Hawk (12 year old me loved skateboarding)
Floyd Mayweather (not a fan but might be one to seek out)
Gary Stevens (I wonder if there are horse racing cards)
Sage Steele (this will be had at any cost, I'd have babies with her)
Ernie Johnson (he's quite likable, if it's the Ernie I think it is)
Heidi Watney (would not have babies with her but I enjoy watching Quick Pitch)
Susan Sarandon (Good actress, has always reminded me of my mother)
    Buster Olney (I like baseball)
    Dolph Lundgren
    James Andrews
    The Iron Sheik
    Axl Rose
    Bud Selig
Ed O'Neill (Another must have, my father and I use to watch Married With Children together religiously)
    Tommy Lee
    Michael Buffer
    Bob Knight

Can't seem to find checklists older than 2012.

I like looking at this thread. It reminds me of simpler times.

My buddy is a big baseball card guy. He’s one of few people who put together the full tops heritage set every year including all the throwbacks, errors, etc. He tells me he’s constantly bidding against Keith Olbermann who is also a collector.

I did the unthinkable just now. My 8 year old daughter took up softball this past spring and she's fallen in love with the game. The poor girl is, by default, a Pirates fan and her favorite player is Cole Tucker (despite him being at AAA). She religiously watches with me, always asking questions. I quite enjoy it.

So I go on eBay and Im looking around and said fuck it. I sniped two 2014 Bowman Chrome's of his.

One is a gold refractor numbered 39/50.
The other is his regular Bowman Chrome autograph card.

Scored both for $13, combining on shipping as they're from the same shipper.

I have a feeling that this wont be the end as she was happier than a pig in shit when I told her. :killme:

Also, are you buying boxes still or just buying the cards solo? I remember the thrill of opening pokemon cards back in the day and I feel like that's what you get when you get these cards. Makes me happy.

I buy boxes when I'm in card shops, haven't mail ordered many boxes lately. Thinking about a case of 2019 A&G but I want to see the auto checklist first. Wax took a back seat when I added a dozen new auto sets to the list. Currently working on nearly 30 sets I want to complete so a lot of spare time is going into daily searches on ebay and begging on card forums.

Anybody been opening any new product? I split a case of 2019 Stadium Club Baseball with my brother and was massively disappointed. Maybe it was just a bad case but between the underwhelming autos/hits and surface scratching on the good cards, there's just no way to break even at it's current price point. The photography, as usual, is top notch though.

I bought two boxes of it, actually had pretty good luck. Hit a Tatis auto, Tatis variation and Severino Gold Minted refractor in one box. The other box was bad though.

Wow that's an insane box. You got the hot box of the case, no doubt. The lack of premiere autos was the most disappointing. 32 autos in the case and the best one we got was Brandon Lowe. No Tatis, Alonso, or Vlad auto and the veteran autos consisted of Foltynewicz, Dereck Rodriguez (why?), and Odubel Herrera. The veteran auto list is perplexing. I won't be buying any more boxes of it, that's for sure.

I really like the stadium club cards but have heard mostly bad things about the case/box hits. I bought one from a card shop just outside of Houston two weeks back and got really lucky.
Autos were Pete Alonso and Vlad Jr /50. Its the only box I have bought.

Tried a couple of the Bowman Platinum's that just got released at Walmart and got some shitty sticker autos. Don't really like the look of the cards. $80/box is pretty steep

Damn, thats really really bad. I got a Brandon Lowe auto in my "bad" box, so pretty insane that was your best auto. I got really lucky obviously, the auto list is garbage. Might be a couple more boxes to complete the set though, the photos are insane.

Certainly can't argue with that. Some of the variations are pretty badass too. I did pull the Griffey Jr. variation, although I wish the photo was cooler. That iconic swing or follow through would have been much better.

The shit that really kills me is, like last year I probably spent like 1200 bucks on Heritage High Number and my best hit was an Aaron Nola auto and a couple Ohtanii variations (not terrible funny enough) and then I would see a guy on Blowout sports: "Bought one blaster at Target for my son and we hit this Trout auto /69"

Bought a box of 2018 Topps series 1 that was laying around. Junk as you might expect but she acted like she pulled a T-206 Wagner when a Felipe Rivero base card was in that first pack. :ohgosh:
