    Thanks. I used to do a whole lot more heavy lifting but have been just doing a lot of volume lately. Most of my workouts end up in the 3500-4000 rep range. It’s funny but I actually feel stronger than before when I lifted heavy most days. It’s probably just more of the time off and doing minimal heavy stuff.

    I just finished about 4 months of doing a bodybuilding split. Most main lifts had plateaud after not gaining much but I attributed that due to inconsistent attendance. Switched back to 531 this week and had some really nice gains from where I was in March..fucking weird how the body works

    Ever done the 531, but I’m 100% bodybuilding now. I don’t do any of the main powerlifting exercises anymore and I’m getting much better results in terms of muscle growth.

    I like doing a split. Take my time on main lifts then do high volume/little rest on accessories.

    I had some really nice muscle gains so didn’t care about the minimal strength

    Man, it's interesting to see how powerlifting participation can vary so much by geography. I checked to see what meets might be relatively close in Mississippi, and there is literally only 2 meets listed on the USAPL for the entire state for the rest of the year. I thought maybe USPA just happened to be bigger in the state, but they only have 1 for the rest of the year in the state.

    Louisiana has at least 1 sanctioned event almost every month of the year, with a couple unsanctioned events that are run by the same guys on top of that.

    Then you got TX and CA with a meet every weekend.

    490 top single on squats. Moved like an opener so that’s a good sign. Ready to hit 545+ in 3 weeks

    This is where I’m at for my age and what I’m looking for in terms of results from the gym. I’m to the point I don’t care about actually getting stronger over getting the most gains in terms of muscle development.

    Senso gives me 6 good months each time which I’m happy with for 25 bucks. I like the ear hook so never worry about them falling off

    Had a bilateral hernia repair two years ago and was doing great. Over the past week I’ve felt some of those symptoms again and I’m freaking out. Hoping I didn’t tear through the mesh or something. Really don’t want another surgery.

    Hoping I just strained a muscle somewhere. Didn’t feel any specific injury any time, so no idea wtf is going on.

    my legs are putting on a lot more size than i expected, every time i stand up, i'm pulling my shorts back down over my thighs. i had to wear pants for the first time in months last week, gonna be shopping again soon.

    Dear diary, stupid shit I did today:

    Only bench/bar available had different lines than what I'm used to, thought I had enough experience to know where my hands are supposed to be. Everything went terribly and get incredibly pissed. Then, get a normal bar and line it up and see that my hands were an inch plus off where they usually are.

    Killed the rest of my workout at least. 3x2 OHP at 160 was pretty easy even right after bench, should hit 185 soon.

    Hi guys. Took some time off for my honeymoon, then moved as soon as we got back to town.

    Fast forward two months and I’ve been doing nothing but cutting down trees, weeding beds, laying sod, and being consumed by mosquitoes.

    Am weak, need to find a new gym, wifey has found a crossfit box up here she likes that has dedicated barbell and open gym programming...

    RPE 10 for sure. I MAY have been able to break the floor on a third attempt, but no way I could have gotten it past my knee.

    Damn. Looks like they all have issues. I abused mine but they did the job. Might just buy them again. Minus the few drawbacks they were waterproof. The battery was decent enough for workouts.

    Solid. Hit 315x5 a couple weeks back, and think I had some left in the tank (but can't remember). Shooting for 375 at the meet.

    Today is my volume deadlift day where I do 3x10 and was 370 today, 380 next week before a deload. If all goes to plan, will be doing volume of my 420 max to begin the year in 4 months. That pleases me, my bench does not please me.

    Update: Feeling better for the most part. Was able to play a full tennis match yesterday without incident.

    Never done so many kegels in my life, didn’t think they really helped with anything for men. I was wrong, apparently. Gents, do your kegels...just as a public service announcement.

    Anyone use any intra-workout supplements?

    I used to be able to stay focused for a few hours but now my sessions start to lag after a couple exercises. Diet and sleep have been good lately so not sure what’s up, probably just a side effect of getting older and not caring as much as I used to.

    Roughly 2 hours counting warmups. Sometimes longer if I do cardio at the end.

    I see some people pretty much take naps between sets, even on machines. Don't really get it. I do it for the lifts that tax the fuck out of my CNS but do you really need like 3 minutes between lat pull sets.

    I take 3-4 min rests for bench, deadlifts & squats, 60-90 seconds for everything else
