Eep. Didn't consider that I play about 50% of my games on turf. This will just reduce the aesthetic of the shoes or actually fuck them up?
I don't know if its the fibers or the pellets or something else, but the turf game just tears up the adhesive/bonding/glue on the copa mundials. The hard outsole & the leather upper regularly comes apart at the front/toe area. The leather is completely intact, just separating/ed from the sole. Like when someone steams an envelope open. It happened like clockwork when I started wearing them on turf. The issue massively reduced the lifespan of my copas mundials compared to wearing outdoor only. By wearing surface appropriate shoes, neither get torn up and I need to buy replacement cleats less frequently. If I had to guess, the kangaroo leather is not as durable as the synthetic turf materials which compounds the issue. I'm sure there is a more scientific youtube video or article about this. Disclaimer: I play indoor on turf between 2-4 times/week so this is the experience of a 'heavy user'. I only play outdoor about 20 times a year.

Casual soccer fan. Going to Spain in September and trying to make it to Real v Atletico when we’re in Madrid. Anything I should know beforehand? Is that gonna be pretty hostile or is that a fairly friendly rivalry?
It’s not crazy hostile it will be a good experience just either wear the home team’s colors or be neutral don’t wear opposing team colors outside the away section they can refuse u entry........which stadium? The new atleti stadium looks nice !
It’s at the Wanda Metro, so I figured my wife and I would buy a couple of Atletico t-shirts to wear to the game. The schedule currently says September 28/29. Not sure how far out they set the date but I set an alert for tickets.
What a terrible, horrible decision. Atleti play a trash style and are impossible to cheer for. That said, there will be plenty of Real fans there too so as long as you're not actively antagonizing people you won't have any problem. Real/Atleti is more of a Yankees/Mets or Cubs/Sox vibe where the fans hate the other club but because its the same city most people have friends or family that support the other. It's less likely to get out of control than Real/Barca which is genuine hatred of the opposition their fans and what they stand for a la Yankees/Red Sox, Michigan/OSU, Dodgers/Giants etc. Liga match dates and times are set 2 weeks before hand. If you're even a casual fan I'd encourage you to take the stadium tours too. The just opened the Wanda last season so I haven't been there but the Bernabeu tour (Real's stadium) is a really cool experience checking out all of the trophies and walking through the dressing rooms and onto the field. Madrid is an awesome city.
Yeah definitely do the Bernabéu tour even my wife loved that tour and she’s not a sports fan really, she ended up wanting to do stadium tours everywhere we went in Spain. The Wanda Metro looked beautiful from the outside, my friend went there last year and said it was super posh inside too

Random question that this may be the best place to ask. This is at least the 5th time that Love Island has infiltrated my twitter timeline in the last few years. Possibly more. Question is, has anyone ever seen it?
Don’t know if Atletico does it differently, but (with thanks to nexus I think for the tips) I waited until a week out to buy tickets for a Real Madrid match when all the returned tickets came back in. Will be tougher for a derby than Levante, but there were a ton of options then and I got great seats for face value. Wore neutral colors and no one really seemed to care who we were rooting for, just don’t accidentally sit in the supporter sections. I also remember it being amazingly civil leaving the stadium even though there were like 70,000 people trying to pile into one metro stop.
It was fall 2017, so not a bad team, but definitely a shit game (1-1 draw). Ronaldo was on his five game suspension, but Madrid still subbed on more talent than I had seen in person before.
What a talent. That control when he probably had enough coke in his system that 99.99% of the world would of ODed. Incredible.
