Dear Journal. Day 3, I drove by a Mexican restaurant at lunch and yelled out the window, Fuck you Bald frauds. Man I wanted to crush a steak taco today.
Still not quite sure yet if that’s just Berhalter’s plan because many times it’s been a flat 3 in the back with the RB pinching into CM or high and wide like Cannon. And that might be because of the lack of LB options. If Gloster breaks through, he can’t play him the same way as Ream. Same goes for when Bello and Kobe eventually rise up.
Haha, the Mexican federation will never qualify for anything again: Spoiler They’ll never ever enforce that.

Dear journal days 4 and 5. I have resisted temptation and feel like I can see an open net and will finish strong. Making it to Friday seemed like the last hurdle to clear. Multiple grumbles were had through the week especially after seeing a guy in a Chicharito jersey the night before. I could sense it, my chance at glory was coming. Then it happened, just like Jozy with a chance on goal I failed miserably. The culprit? A barbacoa taco. It was worth every guilty bite. So just like the USMNT I failed at the end, falling flat on my face.
Mason Toye. Jersey boy. 20 year old. 5 goals and 2 assists in under 200 minutes with Minnesota a bet the last few weeks. Could be interesting.
Transferred to Wigan today. https://www.wiganathletic.com/news/...-international-antonee-robinson-from-everton/
Not sure I like this. Look at the U-20 and U-17 teams, almost all of our young prospects cut their teeth on their MLS team’s USL squad and I want them playing against the best competition.
I don't have time to do this for real Panel 1: Creates system that allows youth players to develop while playing professional matches Panel 2: Goes out of its way to stop that from happening Panel 3: Fucking lack of pro/rel is killing us
IIRC they beat the Rangers in the finals at ‘champ level’ 2 years in a row. They’re like the bizarro-senior squad.
As a fan of a massive city stuck in USL that Garber perpetually ignores I hope they go through with this. Either give us a path or fuck off. A league of like minded cities in the second division would be better than dealing with garbage 2nd MLS sides.
Will never happen with MLS. Only way I could see it is if DonG gets his wish and someday MLS/Liga MX form a joint league which has about 2% chance of happening. Would love if the USL divisions said fuck it and decided to pro/rel on their own.
That has been a rumored plan. I also wouldn’t be opposed if Mexico admitted us (Phoenix, specially) at some level of the pyramid and let us exist like Cardiff and Swansea.
This seems a lot like the “Rangers and Celtic to EPL” rumors. I don’t know anything about Liga MX but I don’t understand how this benefits them. I live in a pretty gentrified part of downtown Phoenix and I can walk to a bar that will have Club America, etc. on whenever.
Liga MX is so dirty and sketchy that it’d never happen. Nearly every player has 2 contracts. The legal one. Then the under the table one to avoid taxes.
Except you're never going to get promoted and some of the MLS 2nd teams are better than your independent teams
Right I understand this, so your 2nd sides can fuck off and wallow away as U.S. soccer never develops because Don Garber holds everyone hostage. Solid win for everyone.
Tell me of all the good Phoenix whatever has done for US soccer. You gave Drogba a second retirement home?
Tyler Adams, Tim Parker, Aaron Long, Matt Miazga, Tim Weah, Juan Agudela, Mason Toye, Matt Olusunde, Sean Davis, Chris Gloster, etc. What other academy in the world has produced more for the USMNT than the NJRB?
How many US born players regularly play for Phoenix whatever and what is their average age? But I'm sure that your noble demand for pro/rel is more important than having American teenagers in an academy setting playing the best, professional competitive matches possible. Having MLS 2nd teams fuck off and wallow in the lower tier is definitely better for US soccer
If MLS isn’t willing to operate like *checks notes* the rest of the world, why should USL bend over backwards to help them out? We’ll do our own thing. I’m not arguing Red Bull doesn’t develop USMNT talent but it doesn’t do USL any good if everyone is stuck in lower division purgatory because of Dong Garber. A second division inclusive of all the independent sides would be a lot more fun than playing trash sides like Los Dos and Tacoma.
