It kinda looks like HS football in Florida. Defenses have fast and aggressive athletes, but they lack size and are undisciplined. Offenses almost all run some version of the spread option. They have a plethora of slot receivers and scat backs, but only go as far as the QB can take them.
When they posted his HS, it was the same place Duke Williams came from and that’s all I needed to know
That's pretty spot on. IMO it's tough to field a decent Oline in JC relative to D fronts. 1st olineman tend to be smarter than dlineman and most guys with the frame and athleticism are qualifiers and already at a 4 year. Probably a bigger impact is how important age/development is for olineman. When I look at FBS programs that aren't getting the best HS olineman in the country, they are typically relying on guys that have been in the program 3-5 years.
If I could like this more than once I would. Psych professor, one language for the kids, then world renowned cac in front of camera. Picknard: I just want to be in your presence.........woof. I think she means well though, although the book club shit was unnecessary. I always just wonder what the logistics are like for them to gather a few students in that conference room for a "skit". White Lit teacher talking to KD: "You only get one brain." I couldn't help it but I just wished he would reply, "Bitch you only get one body."
That was his other high school. I forgot what city he said exactly, but it's by Reserve/Laplace. Used to be decent but went to shit after Katrina.
there's a few schools who run legitimate offenses like EMCC and Iowa Western. But yeah for the most part, if you have better players than everyone else and a shitty QB, it's smart to line up and just run the ball I find myself so annoyed by how much of a fucking slob Brown is...he wears those double X pullovers that are like a garbage bag with arms cut out. And the backwards visor. I guess that's what sitting around drinking cognac and eating Little Caesars will do
As far as JUCO goes, they run a first class program. Have really nice facilities and are building a $7 million indoor facility. Miss. Gulf Coast also has really nice facilities. This is Iowa Western's training center.
It’s been pretty crazy/cool to see how quick Iowa Western got to the top of juco football, that program is only 10 years old. The HC is like 88-19 or something in his time there.
about 15 minutes in. that Wyatt settled into the blue collar life and found himself a blonde hair, blue eyed country girl to settle down with.
Also, LMAO at JB's playbook being sold by a former coach. He runs like 5 plays. Did anyone really need to steal the thing?
Found it interesting the Garden ciry coach stood up for JB at the end. Then again he probably says the same shit to his players
This is what kills me. He talks about how great of a coach he is. His program would shape up tenfold if he changed his appearance (lifted weights, lost his belly, dressed better) and changed his vernacular.
And even worse, they claim to know it, but changed nothing. No change in play calling, signals, etc....... That one assistant was calling out the play on the other sideline just by watching JB. I belly laughed.
I definitely get the vibe that dude likes to play the good guy infront of the cameras. But is a dick 95% of the time.
I finished the series last night. I'm highly curious if they return to ICC for a third season (I don't think it would be very interesting given the new HC). A few quick notes: -JB really started to read his press clippings/social media bit too quickly. I think it's hilarious that Lane Kiffin sent him a book. JB strikes me as the kind of dude completely missed the point of that letter. -I found it interesting that they largely ignored Jermaine Johnson for the majority of this season. Especially considering he was the #1 DEF JUCO prospect. -I don't feel bad for Bobby Brown's situation. You could definitely see the wheels starting to fall off that wagon. Unfortunately he reminds me a lot of Isaiah Wright -I really wonder where JB gets some of his offensive assistants. The majority of them seem very green and don't know how to communicate with students (The WR coach comes to mind) -The English & Philosophy teacher were pretty cool and engaging.
I doubt it. Wouldn't be surprised if they revert back to being a perennial doormat. They couldn't even find an outside person to come in and coach. you think? guy got his work done, kept his head down, and got out. Also wouldn't be surprised if someone smart told him to decline being on the show outside of the two minute segment that mostly featured Rusty Mansel. gave 0 effort. Shit, guy overslept a phone interview with McDonalds. Guy made his own bed. Would guess that no reputable coach wants to work for him. Guy is an absolute clown who doesn't know how to coach. Would you hitch your career to him? Fuck no. However, the young guys looking for a start and want a chance to be on TV would flock to him.
To your first point, JUCO assistants are lucky to make more than $20K so that’s why you see a bunch of young, inexperienced guys. A lot of guys would rather make that money (or even less) and be an off-field staffer at a Division I just because of the quality of life that comes with being at those schools. And yeah, I liked all the teachers too.
Seems pretty obvious that JB is an alcoholic, or at least that's what the show was trying to portray.
Dan Barwick is an absolute jabroni And I actually liked the move of JB firing that Qb coach before he could quit
I look at it as if you are coaching in juco, there is a reason you are there, just like the players. You either fucked up and have baggage, you are super green and don't know anything yet, or you never came through the D1 system either as a player or coach/staff member.
It's there, it's called where are they now, in the description it's mostly EMCC players. just started it
Is this the one that was released around last season? I remember watching a where are they now episode last year.
Just finished the season. Ep. 4 was the fight and that was a great episode, didn't think it would be topped but the following episode where the coaches are telling the players "the upcoming team is giving up nearly 50 pts a game", "you guys are going to win easily", etc. was even better. They get shutout that game I believe and then the wheels come racing off for the rest of the year. Season 5 is going to be tough without JB. He has become that show. They will have a hard time replicating success without him. I'll still watch of course.
Did anyone else notice when they ran out with the pit bull that it busted its ass? A fitting metaphor for what was to come.
Agreed. I think it's done. Maybe if the Garden City coach was still around, but I can't see anything interesting enough. Kyoshi is boring; Iowa Western coach is boring. I'm not sure anyone wants to see EMCC again.
