new Whitney is out there listened to first LP in the shower this morning and feeling pretty relaxed right now. Excited to listen to the new one in its entirety Black Marble - Feels Spoiler
Two thumbs up for the new Whitney. I dig the instrumental track so much, works great as an interlude.
Not a ton of talk here about it, but Aldous Harding - Designer is a pretty damn good indie folk album. More and more I am gravating to NZ and Australian Indie artists.
I think I posted the barrel a while back. Big fan of the song but haven’t made my way through the whole record yet
Two weeks ago, I told myself I would never make the Raconteurs and Vampire Weekend shows in the same week - both out of town. I'd be lucky to make one of those, I told myself. And neither was a distinct possibility. Well, I made both. And it was glorious.
Reminds me that I still haven't listened to that Raconteurs album yet, always liked them the most out of Jack White's work
I don't really care about The Raconteurs if I'm being honest - their material is hit or miss. But finally getting to see Jack White wail on a guitar for 90 minutes was something I can now check off my bucket list. They were great live.
solid interview talks about how a few of the songs were written before 22 a million which makes sense, but also goes into how justin was in a dark place when he wrote 22 a million which affected the sound of that album
Anyone like the Hobo Johnson album? I heard one of his songs on XMU, and wasn't so into it, but downloaded the album and definite guilty pleasure music. Quirky type rapper.
This is Joe Keery. He is Steve Harrington in the show Stranger Things. I really like it. He was in another band, Post Animal, but just released this album under the name Djo.
Whitney played a few songs on WGN News here in Chicago. I watched it in the break room with a couple 40+ year old dudes who swear Megadeth was the peak of music. Had to sit there while they bitched about new music and how Whitney is a Phil Collins rip off and "Phil Collins sucks so why would you rip him off" Made me laugh.
Metal fans are the worst about throwing off on other genres they don't like. Saw this shared by a "metal guy" on Facebook the other day Right, because musical talent doesn't exist outside of shredders playing speed guitar solos
Random, but Andy Shauf's The Party is one of the most replayable albums of the last few years. I've listened to that whole thing so many times.
It's especially good because you won't find many dense records where only one artist is responsible for all vocals, guitars, keys, horns, and drums.
I wish he'd put out another solo album. I enjoyed the Foxwarren album from last year, but not nearly as much as The Party.
Yes, saw them at Bonnaroo in 2009. They were good, and it was the only part of the weekend where there was a breeze and like less than 90 degrees. I was inebriated on substances and libations.
Saw them at school my freshman year. It was fun especially with such a huge Chicago presence in the crowd Versing KEXP set below Spoiler
I definitely would if i hadn't already seen them. I decided to go with The Raconteurs instead bc havent seen Jack White.
Thats fair. He's not very likeable, but cant deny his mojo. I really like some Queens of The Stone Age stuff, but Josh Homme is a dickhead in person. He always talks shit to the crowd.
