    Just walked in.

Tempted to ask a bartender “hey, are any of the brewers from Syracuse, Tallahassee, Miami, New York, LA, or Chelsea?”

Every time I’ve gone there I get hammered. And I never went there with that intention. Good times.

You can go to Jackson’s and attempt to go upstairs and likely get dirty looks from all the UF fans. That’s our official bar on gameday.

However, I believe the Irish Snug on Colfax is the official Auburn bar in town.

I enjoy Prost for a take on German beers. It’s right next to Avanti. All the others are also great suggestions. Hard to go wrong in this town.

Well if you want some Texas BBQ, stop into Smokin’ Yards. Frequently stop there on the way back to town.

Fiancee grew up in Arvada so we're looking at getting married in the Denver area next year, ideally late spring/early summer. She hasn't been to many weddings there so we don't have many trustworthy reviews for venues. Figured it's worth a shot here, so has anyone gotten married in the area/previously shopped venues and have suggestions? We've found several options that look decent but I'm assuming there's a lot of smaller/less popular stuff we just aren't thinking of.

Thanks for being my Pinterest board

We got married in golden at the boettcher mansion. We also had a great wedding planner since we weren't in the area, if you need that

We've stayed there several times and absolutely love it. Any idea if St Mary's glacier is hikeable with tennis shoes?

Yeah I’ve had and they are very good. I actually haven’t been over there since they moved into their brick and mortar though. Probably should revisit.

I think Post Oak on Tennyson might be a real contender. They just opened a couple months ago. Any place with a bunch of Shiner on tap gets a like from me, but I thought the food was excellent.

To the glacier? Yes. It’s only like 1/2 mile. You could also probably make it up the glacier this time of year, but it’d be fairly rocky. Snow levels, if any, are going to be as low as you’re going to get right now all over the state.

I'll dig it up. We toured several venues in one shot, and then did the cake and food tasting on another day. No way we could have done it without the planner. She rocked

Got married in Turnhalle in the Tivoli building on the Auraria Campus. Was a great, self contained venue. Had ceremony on main floor, moved upstairs for cocktails while main floor was arranged for dinner then went back downstairs. Attended two other weddings there and they were both great.

Dive inn could be a fun place to watch the game if you’ve got a crowd.
If you just wanna chill inside a bar, maybe try Rhein Haus, Badgers or my fave, Society Sports

Yeah, definitely agree there with Post Oak. Roaming Buffalo is still up there for me as well.

Is that the divey bar off Broadway? Walked by it multiple times but never had the courage to go in.

You’re near DU. Roaming Buffalo BBQ is fantastic (as mentioned a few posts above). Illegal Pete’s is a nice Chipotle/tex max type place with a bar. Lot of local bars on S. Broadway as well.

favorite bar hopping is near/on S. Broadway.

Dive Inn, Skylark, Kentucky Inn, Candlelight Tavern, many more. Tons of good breweries down there.

Fifty Two 80's is a cool thrift shop that sells on 80s and early 90s toys and swag.

Maria Empanada, Homegrown Tap and Dough, Detour Bakery, Chook. All good.

Breakfast King is a great 24-hour diner when drunk

trip to Boulder and doing Royal Arch is always great. I'm partial to Mt. Sanitas though.

One of Boulder's peaks, such as Bear, is challenging but rewarding

So is going to Sky Pond at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Devil's Head Lookout is probably my favorite hike near Denver. Not long or hard but super unique ending at the top of the fire lookout.

Chief Mountain for close to town and best bang for the mileage (about 3 roundtrip). I always suggest this to people visiting since just about anyone can complete it, offers fantastic panoramic views out toward Mount Evans, and most people that live here don’t even really know about it. Cats out of the bag now.

Has to be one of the most visited restaurants in town. For good reason. It’s great, but always busy. Can’t go wrong there. Related restaurants to Linger (same ownership) is El Five, Root Down, Ophelia’s, Vital Root (vegetarian). All are excellent. If you go to Linger, just wait in line for Little Man Ice Cream downstairs. Yes, it’s good and worth it.

If the weather is good, drinking on the roof is awesome.
