From Bobby a few minutes ago: "In talking with sources, Greg Schiano’s name is not trending as hot as it was at the start of this coaching search. That has to do with the Pat Hobbs – Greg Schiano dynamic. I am hearing neither of them are very high on each other. Therefore, we are downgrading Schiano on our hot list from warm to lukewarm. And unless something changes very soon, Schiano’s name is likely to be downgraded to cool by next week." Fuck Hobbs
Hobbs is lucky he's not fired for the brain dead decision of bringing back Ash for 4 games and wasting an entire season. This is on top of giving a first time head coach a 7 year contract. He has no right to be dictating shit.
I’d have to assume Greg Brown is going to make it clear he can’t fuck this hire up again. Unless he has a sure thing he’s got to go with Schiano.
I think we should throw a huge bag at a 55 year old coach from Wisconsin who has one winning season at the FBS level.
Can't believe that Hobbs could've waited one more game and blackshears decision to RS would've been off the table
I get the feeling that Hobbs wants nothing to do with any coach that has a strong personality and who will challenge his authority as AD. So we'll hire another cardboard film room nerd
i still think it will be schiano. greg is in a position to ask for whatever he wants, so i think the athletic department is throwing some smoke screens that there are other candidates they really like. essentially, they have no leverage other than the fact that greg is not a hot coaching name and not getting lots of offers. unfortunately, greg doesnt need to work and can afford to tell rutgers to fuck off.
So, we're gonna hire a guy who's looking at a 2-4 record with losses to Liberty, Miami (OH), and Ohio?
Do any of you know anything about Union Township? Also, the home buying process is an archaic monster
Here's the link since Catfish is a savage: https://247sports.com/college/rutge...ts/hiow-much-power-does-hobbs-have-136787651/
Dear Ruth Roth, Fuck yourself with an old school blackboard eraser you old crone. https://www.nj.com/opinion/2019/10/...ing-coaches-my-hair-stood-on-end-letters.html
How do you guys feel about Goodale on Twitter scolding Rutgers football fans for being pissed and fed up?
he's quite literally not telling fans to not be pissed off. he's telling people to stop saying our athletic director should be fired. which i'm mostly good with. i do put all of our current shit show on hobbs for not spending more time interviewing and doing his due diligence, but he's done some incredible things for every other corner of our athletic department.
Was more talking about Just not sure what he's hoping to accomplish here. People use Twitter to vent and it's not usually a lot of rational thought
thought the same thing, but goodale will probably be on some podcast in a few weeks talking about how he likes to mess with people online and doesnt take it seriously.
Talent deprived and generally hopeless, put it on a shirt!! "RUTGERS – There’s early talk that Rutgers is going to play ball with the Big Ten big boys, including a coaching salary in the neighborhood of $4 million and, perhaps more important, a coaching staff salary pool in the neighborhood of $5 million. That type of commitment is needed to give Rutgers a prayer, as they are talent-deprived and generally hopeless after passing for one yard against Indiana. The fan, media and booster favorite here is Greg Schiano, the best coach in school history who has sat out this season. But Rutgers hired a search firm and is committed to a process. Look for the two biggest factors to be head-coaching experience and New Jersey ties, which former coach Chris Ash lacked."
