they’ve had issues in Mexico for years and years. They had someone kidnapped by the cartel and held for ransom
Perhaps. I had a pretty long regular working relationship with H, spanning several years (1990-97). She was an abrasive New Yawker whom my uncle had helped at some point so she was fanatically devoted to him. 1993 her sister W shows up, fleeing NY like H had, and my uncle gave her a job too, to help her get back on her feet. Worked with her on Beethoven's 2nd for the duration of the summer. Nice girl, but fucked up in a fiery redhead kinda way. She mentioned somewhere along the way that she'd dated Oates many years earlier, before he wrote the song, and that some specific lyrics made her think he'd written it about her. To be fair, he could have drawn from several relationships, along with his experience with the city of NY. But he'd have good reason not to single out a particular person in any retrospective interviews. I heard she died of an overdose in the late 90's, after I stopped working for the studios
The fact that they arent laughed out of the room when they use "successful people" in that context lets you know how successful business propaganda is in this country
Holy fuck yes. Does this give us real hope for Mitch losing in 2020? I know he’s underwater with approval but how does his compare to Bevin?
wow. The only way I could see Mitch signaling the troops to impeach is if he feels his seat is in danger, which this possibly does.
Well, Kentucky has usually had a D governor for most of my life. IIRC, Bevin was like the 3rd Republican governor since WW2. Proud of my state today :)
Yeah I assumed Kentucky followed more of the rust belt where they have Dem governors somehow but went hardcore for Trump and Romney. The margins though in the suburbs hopefully are going to give McConnell a very painful and fatal heart attack.
