Florida lost to FSU. That's not a bad loss. Rough few days letting Tennessee comeback and Evansville win at Rupp.
Ken Pomeroy has admitted himself that his rankings this early in the season are largely meaningless because it’s still relying mostly on data from last season.
FSU is a projected tournament team . They were in the receiving votes in both polls preseason. Kenpom be damnned. Yet you tried to using them as a bad loss.
Yeah but that’s because y’all are fucking trash and have a shitty head coach that constantly chokes on his own dick then blames it on dumb freshman mistakes
He can always fall back on that excuse since everyone is a one and done player there instead of his own ineptitude.
Think Kentucky's offense will be good once Cal stops trying to force the offense to go inside out. KY bigs are dog shit, but the guards are the best in the country. Needs to let Maxey and Quickley run and gun. Looked so fucking bad trying to force feed the post over and over. Richards will never be good. Sestina can hit threes, but dude is shit in the post. Montgomery was overrated as fuck out of high school. Can't shoot, can't play defense, can't score in the post, can't rebound. A lot of holes on the team, and Maxey is the only NBA talent imo. Wouldn't be surprised if Kentucky drops about 10 games this year.
Generally yes, but it’s a truthful trend with Calipari over the years. Not every year as he does somewhat adapt to the talent, see two years ago when Bam was the only true big and attempted just 7 shots a game, but he does love himself some old school offense.
My biggest complaint with Calipari’s offense is that it’s archaic and doesn’t take full advantage of his players capabilities. Like Herro and Booker, for example, didn’t become good iso and pick and roll players in just the few months before their inaugural NBA summer league appearance. Alas we saw very little of that with Herro in college and in the half court Booker was relegated to a spot up shooter. Herro should have been running wild in college, Booker should have been allowed show more versatility, especially when he appeared to hit a wall with his shot late in the year, but he wouldn’t have posted big numbers just because of how stacked that team was. And of course that’s only a couple examples, KAT is the other most notable one. Guy was a virtual automatic bucket if he had good positioning down low so it was at least understandable there.
That Monk/Fox/Bam team I still feel like they went inside out more often than not with Briscoe and Bam in the post. Y’all still were a piss poor 3 point shooting team. That was 3 years ago too btw. I would say 4 years ago would be a better argument with Murray and Ulis.
No doubt, Kentucky is going to be a good team in March. But as of now, I'm seeing some glaring weaknesses. The Defense will probably be enough to carry Kentucky to 20+ wins, but I don't see the team being "elite" with its offense in the current form. Maybe a 4-5 seed type team unless the guards/Sestina start shooting and hitting a bunch of threes. I can already envision defenses packing in to keep the guards from getting blowbys and layups.
I have Kentucky in my next four OUT and a 2 seed in the NIT. Let’s just hope they don’t draw Robert Morris!
Yep, our offensive sets are brutal. Just chuck it around the 3 point line for 20 seconds and take a low % contested shot or just rip 3's like we have 12 JR Smiths on the team.
Vols are somehow -2.5/3 vs #20 Washington in Toronto of all places tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Conference needs to start winning.
