Really impressive first outing for Filoni I liked seeing aliens in Star Wars again, and I’m not talking bor gullit bullshit
My long time “friend” I do ask that you meet me at your localist Hy-Vee parking lot so i May end your life.
I loved it. Spoiler: episode one spoiler Especially once the Taika bot showed up and they infiltrated the compound together. Can't wait for tomorrow night.
Can someone explain the group of stormtroopers in the room with Werner Herzog? Since the empire has been disbanded are former members having to take up work elsewhere? I.e. guarding someone like Herzog’s character?
it isn't explicitly stated, I don't think, but presumably Herzog's character is a big wig ex-Imperial himself thus having some loyal troops sticking with him. edit: This is 5 years post Jedi, right? That means the Battle of Jakku has either just happened or hasn't happened just yet, so the Empire is still around. That's considered to be the actual end of the war I think. So these guys may still even be "real" Imperial and not ex. double edit: nevermind, Jakku is 5 years post A New Hope, not Jedi. So the Empire is gone at this point.
That's my take as well. There’s so much unsaid about his character but you can read between the lines to understand who he is, or better put, who he was. He seems like a guy who, five years ago was a great military figure, no doubt ruling over whole star systems, with a fleet of Star Destroyers at his command. Fast forward to the present, and he’s operating out of a dimly-lit shack, with only a few loyal stormtroopers left to him. He’s like an ex-Schutzstaffel, trying to hold onto Third Reich glory, hocking Nazi gold with none of the power or command that he once had, but since he doesn’t know any other way, he still talks like he’s in charge when it’s very clear he’s a man out of power and out of time.
I don't need some jackoff analyzing Star Wars for me. I've been analyzing this shit since 1995, bitches.
Definitely bummed the episodes aren't hour long. Was hoping the premier was just short for some reason.
They had enough story for four beefy episodes. But Disney+ needs content so, snip-snip, four becomes eight. Personally, I would've been happier with three movies instead of eight episodes, in terms of story and pacing, but once the whole season is out it'll be a moo point.
So the big theory out there is the "baby" is... Spoiler A clone of Yoda due to markings which lead back to the clone factory in the prequels? Correct?
Not sure the timeline matches for that though. Spoiler Since Yoda wasn’t aware about the clone facility until during the prequels and I don’t think it’s been 50 years from AOTC to Mandalorian
Yoda looks kind of reptilian. Maybe they lay eggs that take hundreds to thousands of years to incubate and hatch. So baby Yoda could just be Yoda’s little brother.
Just finished episode 2. This show is so fucking awesome. I was upset at how short it was. I love the color palette and cinematography. Also — I LOVE the lack of dialogue. They’ve really tried to make it like an old western.
Ep. 2 Random thoughts lol Jawas jacked his ship D’awwwww Baby Yoda trying to force heal Battle for the egg = Jawas eating the egg lmbo Nolte-Ugnaught refusing a job or payment was fucking solid I love this show so much
I love it but the need to really stretch out the minimal content is upsetting. It’s like the opposite of the Netflix problem
going to suck when this is over and we have to wait another year for more. I get that it was supposed to be 4 hour long episodes, but man they got me wanting more each episode.
