The things that piss me off the most about this season Adrian Martinez Adrian Martinez throwing a swing pass Swing passes Colorado and Iowa Frost’s handling of Mo Washington TE/slot receivers doing whatever the fuck they wanted on 3rd & 72 The kicking situation was upsetting, but also like Baxter eating @RonBurgundy’s whole wheel of cheese. Still love the program just hated that team. Edit... add Redshirt management RB rotation/utilization
Once we’re stable under HCSF, at this point we have no reason to expect more than 8 wins a season on average. That’s where the program is in terms of relevance, recruiting realities, and money flowing in. Anything more than that is gravy.
Well y’all finished 3-9 ATS which means I won 10 times on NU this year cuz I actually bet NU +5.5 yesterday and by some miracle it worked
I’m still irrationally angry about Luke going in for one play, throwing a td, then not seeing the field again until one random play on 2nd down at the end. It just doesn’t make any fucking sense. The entire fucking state knew we weren’t going to win with AM running the show.
Should have had ‘ffrey in the whole last drive running vicious ZRs in bounds. The subbing of 7 in and then out sure didn’t lend itself to fluidity of the drive. Corch Forst certainly lost us that game with awful playcalling and personnel mismanagement. I ain’t mad at Adrian. He’s not making five million.
Does anyone listen to the radio broadcasts? Two years ago Matt Davison was getting pretty uppity about how bad the program was under Riley. No argument. But just how apparent and obvious is his double standard? I'm curious what his general demeanor is when we're out there reaching new never-before-attained levels of inept.
Ok so if we're definitively out on Frost then who do we want then? Then when that guy sucks, who do we want after that?
I’m not out on Frost but I am out on a lot of his generic ass staff. He needs to make major changes and I’ll think he’s a capable leader. He won’t though.
And that’s just because it seems like the only thing that Frost likes more than winning is being right.
Frost has sucked thus far but that doesn’t mean I think a change of coaches will change things. we suck. We have no reason to think we won’t suck next year. No reason to get defensive about Frost. It’s okay to be honest and say things aren’t going according to plan
I'm not getting defensive about him. I'm just asking a question. Rarely do things ever go according to plan, even in situations that end up good. I don't know what the right answers or moves are. No one does although everyone seems to act like they do.
You guys just have to realize we don’t have the inherent advantages that a place like Minnesota does so there’s no way to turn a program around in 3 years here.
Here's what I would do I guess. Give Frost another year and fully re-evaluate everything with a special focus on recruiting improvement. If I like what I see then give him another year. If I don't then I make calls exclusively to 100% proven commodities. Dudes like Urban, Lincoln Riley, Gary Patterson, etc...and I see who wants $15 mil/year. Now, you may just end up getting some guys huge raises and hell, the regents probably wouldn't even approve it but that's what I would try. We've tried everything else
Fleck turning out to be the real deal and Frost turning out to be fools gold will be the fuck us cherry on top.
Tbf I always thought fleck was the real deal. Building a program like WMU is much harder than UCF. UCF was 0-12 the year before frost got there but 2 years before they were in a New Years Day bowl.
Minnesota croots Tyler Johnson and Rashod Bateman. We get Mike Williams and Jaron Woodyard. We love it, don’t we folks.
Don’t forget in will take us AT LEAST 6 years before we should expect competent OL play or a QB that can run the playbook. No way to expect otherwise.... Spoiler
Remember that time Fleck fired his DC after we dropped 50 on them and then went like 10-2 since. Weird.
Now we're slobbing on Flecks dick itt??! Damn guys...I thought we hated that guy too? I can't keep up with the trends.
I think it’s possible to still hate someone but still acknowledge that they took a program on the brink of extinction with recruiting classes averaging about 55 and turned them into a top 10 team within 3 years.
Things that would pull me right back in: New proven 3-4 DC or scrapping that bullshit scheme (with also a new DC) because it’s never looked good here. New OC that he actually trusts that is both a good recruiter and allows him to focus on the team wholistically because I think half the dumb shit we do is because Frost can’t do more than one thing at once. An actual good wr coach and recruiter. Can bullshit ass Dewitt. Dude is fucking worthless at everything he does. Get actual ST coach. Keep Fisher and Held and everyone else is fair game. Start buying players for Christ’s sake. Do steroids like Wisconsin pls Not exhaustive
This. For all the clowns who say Frost is the last hope. God forbid we can see other clowns are doing a good job while the golden boy is looking like he belongs in the NSAA.
At the end of the day the only thing that matters is we got Hoiberg’s dawgz infiltrating the CHI Center in one week.
One side note... every SEC school that is good has multiple “analysts.” We need to do the same, no good reason not to bring in multiple good football minds.
We can't all just have hot takes on volleyball, Taylor Swift, and what pics get posted in the Angie Varona thread.
Gary Patterson had the same record as we did AND he started a QB from Swimtown East. Footballiscomplicated.reversegif
