You can also mix it up with your choice of bitters and vermouth. I stick with Carpano Antica sweet vermouth and Angostura Bitters, but whatever you prefer is fine. Also, I recommend brandied cherries (luxardo is popular and easy to find). 3 on a pick is the classic cocktail. I’m actually barreling a Manhattan for Xmas this year. Plan to get my family shitfaced.

Got a sample of Skrewball peanut butter whiskey from cask cartel. While I can’t recommend buying a bottle, it’s actually good for what it is. Think of it in the same realm as something like Bourbon Cream or Rumchata, but peanut butter cookie flavored and 70 proof. Good for a shot, and would probably make some damn good dessert cocktails. If you have a chance to try it without committing to a whole bottle, don’t pass it up
I had it the first year it came out; maybe three years ago? And I didn’t care for it. All this talk makes me think I’m a fucking idiot if everyone loves it for $90.

I know plenty of places you can over pay for it. I know of approximately zero where you can get it for its retail price.
I was at the red phone booth last night drinking old fashioneds and whiskey sours on the company tab. On our way out I look at the wall behind the bar and saw these.
Wish I had read the last page sooner. Made a random stop at a mom and pop shop just now and picked up the Willett pot still reserve for $59.99 on an impulse. Sounds like it’s not that great.
It is the 750ml. Funny thing is when I saw the price I quickly googled it and the first few results showed similar prices at other nearby shops. One place was actually advertising a $99 price. So I didn’t think $60 was too far off. Oh well, live and learn.
I paid the same and tried it somewhere else. It is terrible. Total piece of furniture now. Cool bottle.
Took my FIL to a liquor store today. He wanted to get a nice “40-70 bottle for his bday. 6 bottles later he was done. Remember, this is Ohio so limited options. Got him 4R single, remus, basil (he really likes it), jack single barrel, Russell’s single, Bulleit 10. He really likes my OKI so I got him the remus. New Riff done fucked up making the move to their own stuff. So many people like OKI.
