Its surprisingly addicting. Level 2 heavy machine gun wrecks shit. Didn't think I'd ever be able to take down multiple Mantiqueens....wrong.
If you breed velociraptors, make sure you put a buddy in there with him or he will attempt to break out 24/7
Outer Worlds is my favorite game I've downloaded and never played a second of. Truly an emotional experience so far.
i enjoy that at least early on, it’s very not demanding of my total attention because I have a 6 week old and a two and a half year old so it’s easy to start, stop, etc
I always like these sim city/tycoon types, but yes jurassic game is fun. Would be even better if my mean Ceratosauruses would leave my sweet Struthy boys alone and eat the 500 goats I have humbly offered as tribute. Also, in lower school, the only game on the school computers was Dino Park Tycoon. I played the shit out of that game and loved it even though I was never as good as Bryant C. or Michael N. (damn nerds). This game reminds me of it so very much but all growed up.
Played that too... First in class to learn the exploitation in Dino Park Tycoon -- hiring more tour guides means you win. You start with 1 dinosaur and like 99 tour guides and make all of the monies. At least that's how I remember it being anyway.
No idea but the main thing that makes me want one is reduced input lag. I have kind of an old tv that still works fine for watching sports and shit like that. I'd rather not buy a new one. I think the move is to buy a nice monitor and eventually use it as the first piece for building a pc.
I have a Samsung CHG70. Curved QLED with 1 ms response. Overkill for Xbox bc of the 60fps cap but ready for the next gen without having to upgrade. There are options out there for much less that will do the same thing if you just want reduced input lag. If you’re looking for one to also use with a gaming pc, get one similar to this. Kinda depends on what you’re willing to spend.
yeah some further questions related to the general concern (welcome to the club of pc builders!) about improving your experience - in this first method, reducing input lag. I had a plasma (from 2012) as my main tv until recently that just had laughable input lag from the xbox, 65ms to be precise...rated as "Bad" by THIS DATABASE which measures and rates input lag. I happened to upgrade the main tv last year and it's input lag is 19ms (which might drop if I put it into game mode?) as is rated as "excellent". Do you intend to by an nvidia or amd graphics card for the PC? XBOX uses amd materials and is more open sourced, but I think its fair to say Nvidia is considered the leader and brand name with their gsync monitors.
What's the name of this Jurassic Park game? I searched through Game Pass and couldn't find. Anyone able to help me out with a link or something?
A bunch of the monitors I've looked at have anywhere between 1-4ms input lag, which is incredible compared to my tv which is 40+ I'll probably try to keep the price under 300. In the future, it can be my second monitor and I'll splurge on a new fancy one like bone posted. As far as nvidia or amd, I'm woefully uneducated when it comes to any specifics of building a pc. Before I do anything, I'll make an effort to learn as much as possible. I recently got google fiber so now I'm motivated to sort of upgrade all of the hardware I use. Seemingly everything I own is outdated save for my One X.
^keep us updated. I just upgraded to Fiber as well. My local ping is something like 3-7 ms usually and my monitor is 144hz, with usually ~90fps, it's magnificent.
Been wanting to get a monitor for awhile now, for PvP games. Love the 65inch for single player, but it's gotta be the TV that's effecting my skills. Can't be my fault; can't be.
I'm pretty bad about having a backlog, and GamePass hasn't helped at all. Now I just download games that I'll never have time to play, like Subnautica.
Do a google search for “best console monitor” and buy a BenQ with 1 or 2 ms response time. Should run around $250. Best decision ever for pvp games. Also, get a controller with paddles. One of my buddies has a scuf and he hates it. My other buddy got a Razer controller for half the price and loves it.
better response time and frame rates. using a monitor means youre much more likely to be at a desk than laying on a couch at a weird angle, which will make a large difference by itself even if you put a tv on the desk. just in general sitting close to a 24/27 inch monitor feels a lot better than across the room from a 75 inch tv
movies and tv are filmed in what, 24 fps? so most, if not all (idk i havent bought a tv in a decade) tvs are going to have a frame rate thats pretty close to that. 30 fps is going to be your standard there. as we move towards a new generation of consoles that will likely have a range of in game fps from 60 to 144 the tvs capable of 4k/30 are just not going to look as good as a 1440/144 or 4k/60 type monitor will. the tv will be fine for your gears/uncharted type campaigns that are built more in the style of a michael bay film, but when youre playing something competitive, soulslike, etc every frame matters.
TVs have refresh rate of 60 or 120, but film and tv/sports content is 24-60 Monitors via graphics cards can push 120 or more.
Input lag is bad on some TVs. Meaning what you see on the screen is slightly delayed from what's actually happening. Affects timing across pretty much any game you play, and if you have a laggy TV, you'll really feel it if you ever get a chance to compare.
I have mine hooked up to a so-so Asus monitor and the difference is noticeable whenever I play something like Rocket League on a TV
