Yes, it's very good, but it depends how much you pay for it because prices are all over the place. The Bomberger's that pperc15 recommended is also great.
Also, local store not only had Blanton’s, but a Little Book Chapter 2 Spoiler $90 for the Blanton’s and $150 for the Little Book
I don’t love it either. however, I was just given another 12 year store pic bottle last week for free... which makes it the best bourbon ever.
I just finished my first bottle and I paid $90 for my second. I will be sad when I can't find this anymore.
Funny that we're doing basically the same thing, and I've tried four totally different bourbons from your four. This is how my idiot palate ranks mine so far. 1. EH Taylor Small Batch 2. Four Roses Single Barrel 3. Elijah Craig Small Batch 4. Buffalo Trace The EH Taylor is my runaway fav so far. Drinking it right now.
Degausser if you’re ready to have your everyday bourbons ruined, I can give you a couple sample bottles.
To be honest, I wish after I bought that bottle I’d slipped in the garage, broke it, and been up to my ass in Legent before I could’ve drank it. Am I right pperc15 ?
Much like the United States Postal service, Oregon Black Maple Hills, and realizing you don’t want to trade a bottle you already agreed to trade, the only thing Legent delivers is regret.
Keef I'll try and get your samples shipped this weekend. Maybe I'll put out 15-20 and let the thread vote on what to send him (I have 12 sample bottles)
It tastes like cinnamon toast crunch. Its not bad, (and I'm not saying this as a diss) but a couple of the girls I used to date that am now friends with love that shit and will drink it neat. Its especially good when its free. I like it, just not hot at all and don't think there is much to it.
I don't have the palate that some of these guys have but I thought it was decent when you add a cube to it. Not amazing, but good enough, especially when free. EDIT: I agree with WillieHuff above, it's not hot or anything. But I like the cube to take down some of the sweetness of it.
I’m hopefully getting a big raise soon and if it’s still available I may make it a gift to myself. I will attempt to haggle them down to $125 and inevitably pay the full price when they say no
It’s very different than anything you’ve probably had. Just enjoy it for what it is (rye whiskey blended with Canadian whiskey and rum.) Very sweet, molasses flavor.
I bought two 375s of W.B. Saffell yesterday based on trusted people’s opinion and the fact it’s loosely a WT product. Haven’t cracked it yet. Thoughts for anyone that has tried it?
Haven't had a chance to open mine yet but everything I've read is Positive. Might get into it tonight.
That sounds like fun, if the thread is interested I can give my super novice unrefined palate reviews of each one.
